  • Love this clip- favorite from Frasier!

  • David is a GENIUS. He manages the physical comedy at high levels. It´s not easy. Here he is as good as Rowan Atkinson (or better).

No wonder why he received a Tony in Broadway.

  • that fire extinguisher bit is classic

  • My favourite scene in Frasier... VERY VERY GOOD ACTING!

  • niles is definaltly one of my favourite tv characters and this scene does make me laugh (=

  • One of the best scenes ever :D

  • Priceless acting. Silent movie making at its very best! Beautifully planned and executed. Hyde Pierce played it brilliantly, and full marks to the wonderful Eddie too.

  • David Hyde Pierce is brilliant!

  • when he realizes not to run with scissors is brilliant. at 1.35

  • Is his finger bleeding and he's fainting at the sight of blood, or is he fainting at the sight of burns?

  • @adrimare1 His finger's bleeding. That's why he had to clean the couch, because he got blood on it.

  • @Bek359 Ok.

  • A pretty obvious rip off/copy of Mr. Bean.

  • @blingsohard

If you think Mr Bean invented silent comedy you might be insane

  • Aww poor Niles!!! :( This has got to be the FUNNIEST thing I've ever seen

  • Thanks for this! I haven't seen it in so long and I am nearly in tears for laughing so hard!

  • GRACE 14518: This is Episode 6.14: Three Valentines, from the "Frasier Online Episode Guide"

  • Nice of Eddie to keep reviving him. :)

  • Quite possibly the funniest opening sequence in the history of sitcoms. I remember seeing this when it first aired and I was laughing so hard my sides hurt.

  • it is funny but a little bit painful for me to watch because this scene reminds me of myself

    :P

  • I love Niles so much! He's hilarious. I never knew I could fall so madly in love with a tv show character that isn't the epitome of sexiness.

  • This always cracks me up. DHP is a genius.

  • The dog is getting quite a show =)

  • LMAO. This makes me laugh hysterically every time. The fire extinguisher is the best part, and then him fainting again at the end. David Hyde Pierce is a genius.

  • I laugh at this every time I see it, and the finger in the air thing is piss funny! Well done David... I miss Frasier.

  • My mom and dad got me the Frasier collection box set, i am in LOVE with it, awesome serie.

  • HAHA saw the episode again today, must be one of my fav moments in Frasier :-)

  • Ditto. This is one of the funniest single scenes ever on television.

  • Oh my god, I've never seen this episode, I can't imagine how pissed fraiser was

  • My alltime favourite scene - What a talented man

  • LOLWUT

  • Absolutely a classic!! Niles at his comedic best!!!

  • Oh!! he made an enterely mess for nothing!! (nothing for a normal guy) that was so funny!!!

  • it was quite good, but the use of the fire extinguisher was kinda cheesy...

    lol

  • This is one of the most fantastic pieces of comedy!! Sheer genius. It plays to perfection almost all of Niles' obessessions. (except his thing for Daphne ;) )

Love how he faints at 2:01.

  • Haha, i saw this one on tv, it's such a brilliant scene, reminds me a bit of Mr. bean without the talking. Brilliant.

  • which episode is this!??!! too funny!!!

  • Ha! I like this show too. See, I stopped arguing with you before because I got the feeling you were a lot like me. I was right!

  • haha, hmmm...touche.

  • @skymunro three valantines, its on youtube somewhere .

  • I wan to know too

  • The lesson to be learned here: Never, ever, let Niles do the ironing. Lest you want your clothes and furniture to catch fire. LOL

  • very funny. i also like the one where the fathers' chair gets on fire and is tossed over the balcony.

  • wonder how they came up with this ... normally they write line jokes .. this is simply brilliant!

  • Absolutely brilliant scene!

  • This scene was done because a critic in a magazine wrote Frasier should be on the radio because the humour is purely intellectual and the actual visuals provided very little. So they filmed this scene to show that they could also do physical humour.

  • I coincidentally saw this on tv ages ago, and I've never forgotten it. Favorite Frasier moment.

  • @imkiepoo - Same here. I'm a bit... errrrm... perfectionistic and I replay this mentally whenever my "Leave Well Enough Alone" resolve is weakening.

  • ha ha ha ha! i love this part everytime i see i just laugh and can't stop!

  • ha ha makes me smile every time ... David is the briliant actor!!!

  • It's a comic ballet. My favorite TV skit of all time!

  • :D hes like an american Mr. Bean in this scene.

  • hahaha, I never though of that but it's so true! He's even got the odd little noises here and there.

  • @etcos1 aw yeah!! I didnt even realize that!!! XD

  • @etcos1 Totally i couldnt have put it better myself :D no dialogue is necessary here ahaha it speaks for itself ahahahhahaa

  • briyyent

  • This is one of the best moments EVER on Frasier. I have tried to tape all of the reruns,in hopes that I would catch this. Thanks for putting it on-I loved it.

  • David Hyde Pierce rocks!

  • Best Niles physical comedy in the series! Mwahahahahahahah!

  • The timing in this bit is as close to perfect as it gets!!!!!

  • This is my most favorite Frasier episode ever!

  • I love how Eddie the dog is like the straight man in this scene!

  • This is comedic artwork!

  • Best...Show...EVER

  • if he wasn't fuck a nitpick with his pants none of this would of happened.

  • frasier's gonna choke him to death for that, ha ha ha.poor Niles what a sissy.

  • My fave Frasier episode! Niles is hilarious.

  • Absolutely Hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • messing up the apartment in the only way niles can.....

  • Hahahaha

  • If only his date was several minutes early......

  • really love this scene its brillant..really miss the series it makes me really smiley.

  • Ooooh wow... this IS NILES... how we know him ;D

  • The best comedy skit on TV, hands down. He does all this without a single sentence, but gets the point across from smelling smoke to realizing the cleaning fluid is flammable! BRAVO man, bravo.

  • @thetwentyfourth if DHP has convinced you that this is easy, then he's done his job exceptionally well.

  • it was this scene which I watched somewhere else which inspired me to watch every single episode of Frasier! I just finished the last episode today. It took me about 2 months. Now I'm starting to watch Cheers from season 1 and I am already missing Frasier and all the other characters!

  • It really is a well written show. I'm starting to watch it in order from start to finish.

  • i did that, then i realised when i had nearly finished that Frasier was a spin-off of Cheers! now im watching all of Cheers

  • at first it is symphony no. 40 (last movement) and at 1:27 the ouverture from le nozze di figaro. Mozart that is ;-)

  • And here was me thinking the Cranes were purely fictitious. C'mon, Eddie. Let's get a beer before we end up covered with lavender and coconut moisturizer.

  • I'm with you Marty.

  • what is the classical piece playing in the background? anybody know?

  • DHP is the best!! :D

  • LOL. It's the little things that get me. The little "scritch" sound as he puts up the ironing cord holder, the take he does when he reads the can by candlelight, then realizes it's flammable, the look he give Eddie right after the sofa ignites. Bravo, Mr. Hyde Pierce!

  • The whole thing cracks me up, but holding the scissors and way he runs across the room at 4:54 have me in stitches! LMAO.

  • it's from the episode three valentines in the sixth season.

  • LMAO!!!!!

  • what episode is this from?

  • That was the best scene in Frasier history i have ever watched!

  • classy show that is timeless.. i just never stop laughing at this scene.. What an amazing Actor he is

  • A TV critic for the USA Today once called this bit the funniest 5 minutes of TV. I can clearly see why. I find it refreshing in our day of CGI this and crude humour that that there's still something to be said for good old-fashioned physical comedy. Hyde Pierce gives Harold Lloyd, Charlie Chaplin, Mr. Bean and Buster Keaton a run for their money.

I just love the way he flops onto the couch at the sight of his own blood :-)

  • Absolutely! I laugh til my sides hurt every time I see this!

  • niles have some strange issues...ANd he's a phy major!

    love it!

  • Possibly the funniest five minutes of TV I've ever seen.

  • My wife and I have watched Frazier re-runs for six months trying to find this. Someone said: try YouTube and type in Frazier - Niles fire and Voila! Thank you so much. LOAO til it hurt. This is fabulous.

  • Yet you can't even spell his name.

  • Gee, too bad. Sorry about that. BFD.

  • Thankyou so much for posting this!!David Hyde Pierce is a king of physical comedy!!He reminds me of Jim Carey with out going over the top.

  • Great!! Which season is this from??

    Niles is the best :)

  • i agree, this five minute scene is the funniest and most well acted in television history

  • This is the funniest Frasier moment ever. I've seen it so many times and it never fails to make me laugh.

  • Funniest 5 minutes in the history of television.

  • I love this clip. It's like an I Love Lucy episode! Thanks for this.
