CSM!! (poor chickens they are been treated like things, i hope that human babys will be put on that tubes that way, just like the chickens).

  • So, if you feel mercy for those chickens, WHY you EAT them??

The people who says that and don't changes their food are ridiculous and the cause for those brutal and unnecessary pain.

The WORLD changes if YOU change.

  • @TheProVegan we all need to change and that wont most likely happen, because if you're trying to set the right principles, someone else will come and exploit/take advantage of it, because thats how people are. everyone for themselves. the whole system is fucked, but its the only system that works.

  • Everyone needs to watch this at least once a month and meditate on it........HEAVILY. Then and only then will we awake from our deep slumber.

  • wtf

  • LA ÚNICA FUERZA QUE PUEDE CAMBIAR Y LIMPIAR EL MUNDO E LA MISMA QUE LO CONTAMINO POR ENDE EL CONOCIMIENTO Y LA TECNOLOGÍA SON FUNDAMENTALES PARA ESE GRAN CAMBIO LO DEMÁS ES RETROCEDER EL SUEÑO

  • The rhythm of human society.

  • Those chicks should be given some respect. I know that we eat chickens but they still should be treated nicely. Temple Granden for example since she's a famous autistic genius came up with how to treat cattle nicely in the slaughter houses. She even said that animals we eat are to be given some respect. Perhaps there are some people like her who want to the same thing she did. If you haven't heard of her, type in her full name on any sites. She's extrodinary.

  • mind blowing.

  • I'm still looking for the nuggets

  • World like a machine, empty, this is like a fascination Pink Floyd.

  • chicken auschwitz...horrifying

  • and today, I have officially given up eating chicken... just sticking to hamburger and bacon and fish

  • The females have their beaks burnt off because they will be kept for the rest of their lives in tiny cages with several other chicks, in such close conditions that if they were allowed to keep their beaks, they would peck each other's eyes out. It's sick and sad that we continue to subject animals to these horrible practices.

  • What they are doing to the chicks is horrible. At the point where they are being thrown into two different slots, what is actually happening is they are being identified by gender. If they are male, they are thrown into the "male" slot where they they fall into a meat grinder.

  • Bon Appétit! I still don't get it how people can eat meat from from animals that where tortured and raised in those horrible factory farms. Not only it's unethical in every kind of sense...it's unhealthy for yourself, destroys our nature and worldwide economy. Damn...stupid, egoistic humans.

  • @lordoid We damage our Earth in the same ways when we farm vegetables. How do you suggest we make the staggering amount of food needed to feed our planet without hurting it? Villifying people who eat meat does not solve the problems of vast overpopulation and the need to produce food for everyone. I'm not saying your wrong, I'm saying I would like to hear someone actually have an idea for how to correct the problem.

  • @shleesauce Oh it's not that complicated. ;) We have more than enough food. Problem today is the way we consume, the farming techniques and of course the political situations. It's of course too long to discuss here. If you want infos, ideas and answers for today and the near future i can recommed a (really) great large book: "Worldchanging: A Users Guide for the 21st Century".

  • Esta montagem de imagens foi uma das melhores que já vi... muito bom!!!

  • be vegetarian, animal are friend no food, animal like us.

  • GREAT the drums remind me of Akira, but this is just awesome!!!

  • Shit... I just ate chicken for dinner....

  • @LizzziMerjanen @LizzziMerjanen I don't see how. Sure, they shouldn't be kept in dark places like that in cramped conditions, it causes a great environment for disease, but that's based purely on the effect it will have on humans, and as long as they are killed on the first attempt as fast and painless as possible that'd be even better. But I still don't get how I'm fucked up because I don't care about the chickens themselves (but rather the effect their conditions would have on people).

  • why were they burning their beaks? i dont get it

  • see michio kaku: types of civilisations

  • the growing pains of an adolescent species. as we move from a type 0 to a type 1 civilisation, this period of transition is the most dangerous and destructive era for the human animal. keep positive and try to improve and influence as much as you can. twas ever thus. peace

  • we are,as a species, f***ed up, and if we go on like we are doing, wont be here in 50 years (maybe sooner). Sad, we had so much potential as well

  • how is the name of the songs of baraka, thank u!!

  • this is terribly disgusting. this "analogy" is the most f*cked up one i've seen. innocent animals, being thrown around like they don't matter. we should just do that to each other! throw other humans and perhaps our dogs and cats and just throw them around, stuff them on machines where they can barely move because they're surrounded by thousands of other innocent chicks, then brutally torture them, and eat them. so inhumane. humans are terrible. absolutely terrible.

  • @idioidioteque, I don't know whether you've scene the whole film, but what I love about this film and especially this scene is it's honest, when you watch the whole film it puts it into context. Yes it is brutal but humanity can be brutal, but what this scene represents to me is the mechanization of modern society, how we've all being reduced to a resource like 'chickens'. It's about the loss of humanity which leads to the brutality - a disregard for nature which we are very much a part of.

  • @greenfrod Beautiful comment. Massive respect.

  • poor chickys :(

  • You've got to be pretty stupid to eat hormone fed battery chickens. Or any other factory farmed meat for that matter.

  • URGENT! Take action NOW for Dogs in Skopje (Macedonia)

I received a desperate alert from Natasa ( of "Heart of Animals", a local org) about the dreadful situation of stray dogs in Skopje (Macedonia)

There is one only shelter over there, where dogs are killed in huge number and impressive frequency. The Mayor, responsible of the shelter, declared openly that dogs must be KILLED.

The shelter was meant to sterilize dogs and then let them go, but OFFICIALLY 56% of dogs are killed !

  • i love chicken :))))))

  • mortal kombat

  • Same idea like the Man with the Moving Camera

  • Believe me if your hungry enough you will eat anything to stay alive. We here in the usa dont know what hunger is.

  • Here in Europe we do, we are starving to death.

  • not quite sure about that

  • @babyycat well, if youre only way to survive is to hunt, do it-by all means. HOWEVER humans who CAN afford it & who KNOW how to survive without killing animals, just simply should not. many of us can get other sources of protein/iron in many amount of ways-we can survive-we are the smartest animal, arent we? we dont NEED to kill innocent animals. we are selfish. we are cruel. if we didnt have this level of intelligence, then sure, hunt in order to survive. but we have other ways around it

  • That is exactly the point:

We do have a CHOICE whether or not to support inhumane practices.

  • We do have a choice... but at the moment if we take that choice we'd pretty much have nothing. To talk about how we reject inhumane practices is different to actually doing something about it and actually rejecting. But what can you do? you tell a person in india they shouldnt make Nike shoes because they are getting pretty much nothing for it, your telling that person to starve. The only way to stop this is for a complete revolution of our social and political system.

  • Poor chickens :-'(

Holocaust is what animals go through every day in factory farms.

  • It's true. I had a (completely non-vegetarian) friend who said after the movie, 'Oh, those poor chickens", and then proceeded to go to dinner with me and eat a chicken. I pointed out that what we saw in the movie was just the first tiny step towards the terrifying and painful life (should it even be called that?) of factory farmed chickens.

  • idk, it seems pretty fun to go down a funnel

  • i agree, cept when ya get to the incineration bit

  • That is right, working and having a job of any time is not natural or 'normal'...it is criminals who have created a system like it which breeds powerless slaves who have no option but to sell their labour.use google to search 'how to fire your boss' for gurrila warfare

  • silly birds, getting caught by the humans.

  • Wow... this film makes me feel so happy that I can live in my country:) ... poor chickens....:(

  • where's your country and why do you think factory work would be any different where you are? Chain work is standard in assembly lines... of course no one likes those jobs and multinationals prefer to use cheap labor and set their factories in eastern europe, north africa and south east asia etc... By the end of the day imagine how you would feel... and the dreams and images that would haunt you for the rest of your time off work. We never think of it when we use our Ipod.

  • First, I don`t have an iPod;p second, I live in the momst beautiful country POLAND!! Please forgive me but I`m sure that here factory work is better... We work 8 or sometimes 10 hours, we can go to toilet everytime we can, our socials are guaranted, mostly we work in factories with fresh air and with no rats... we can earn much more than people in India or China, cause we can buy a car, renovate the flat or do other several things everytime we want to...

  • But yes, I think You are right, I would feel awfull coming back home after such work....

  • and that`s why I`m happy because of my country, because I have an opportunity to be someone. To learn, to travel, to have many children(;)) and to work everywhere I want

  • and by the way I study law

  • I thought you might be American and also a teenager because it sounded like you've never stepped out of your country. I guess that can happen in parts of Europe too. Your comment about rats and fresh air sounds completely out of place and naive to say the least. MOst of that factory work above is filmed in Japan, one of the cleanest, most quality control obsessed country in the world. However I'm glad you're happy, I'm sure Poland has a lot to offer.

  • Thank you for constructive response. Maybe I have no idea about factory work, cause I have never been in one. Those things I was writing about are just very important for me. Clean air is what i love the most.... About Japan, maybe you have right, because they must be organized to exist. That`s why they are so clean.

  • First time I don't get an angry response on youtube. It seems that whenever people are told they might be mistaken, they take it so personally they will attack you with insulting words. Maybe it makes a difference that you're a woman, or maybe people in Poland are not egomaniacs in general? A friend of mine traveled through Poland and told me he felt like going back in time. That must be quite an experience. Maybe I should go check it out.

  • You must be kidding!!!!..( after reading your patetic message i don't know if i cry or if i laugh)

You call it freedom!!!?? To be free is to go to the toilet whenever you like?..Nietzsche was right; we all are slaves, prostitutes saling our precious time in change of grooms..But you know what? the world needs people like you to make the machine work...go on slave..keep laughing but don't look yourself in the mirror..

  • but they also kill chickens in your country.. and what is so great about working eight or ten hours for so less.. this world is really sad.

    Gouranga!

  • I think you need to take that class again.

  • we watched this is reading class... animala abusers

  • Pobres pollitos!!:S

  • ich finde es wirklich furchtbar, wie diese kleinen süßen küken behandelt werden:wie dreck!!!Wie die da noch überleben können,is schwer vorstellbar.tierquälerei!!!!!

  • I hate what there doing to those poor chicks!!!

  • well the system is doing the same to you and to all the people, try to look beyond the images, that's the idea of the comparison.

  • @jobroschick411 Unfortunate fact of life. We coudnt sustain our ever populating existence without such methods.

  • @jobroschick411 Me too, but I think the message is that people are not far from the chicks. Compare the takes with chicks with the takes with people.

  • @jobroschick411 its just horrible isnt it

  • @jobroschick411 I hate what they are doing to those poor humans.

  • I like how everyone is totally missing the point this filmmaker is trying to convey. If we can be hit on such an emotional level by the industrialization of a life form, such as these chickens, why are we blind to the fact that we have "industrialized" our own existence as people? Shouldn't we be just as concerned or revolted? Maybe we just overlook this because we are so mired in our own routines. We need something like this to "shock" us back into appreciating life for life's own sake.

  • Exactly! He wants us to look at the human population as a superorganism - we are all part of the whole but we are turning ourselves into something unnatural - we are slowly but surely becoming machines. Inhumane behavior makes us Inhuman. I've always hated free-market capitalism and industrialization because it places an arbitrary value on human life and ALL LIFE. Disgusting... And in the words of Brendan Perry "We've been too long American dreaming and I think we've all lost The Heart"...

  • just because one extreme is bad doesnt mean that the other is good.

  • "ethnic views"

You mean ethical views, not ethnic views correct? Anyways, I am an atheist, and I argue purely on a scientific base because, well, what is the alternative?

"Some of the greates philosophers, the very thing you say you study, were atheists or agnostics."

And when did I say they weren't? Is this supposed to be a rebuttal to my arguments?

"who decides they need intzelligence on par with ours to desrve pity and not being killed?"

    Philosophers who think about rights.

  • 3:04. nice.

  • They way the little chicken were treated was so bad.. I could't even keep on looking at it...

  • this does make me feel bad for the animals... but they taste soooo good... so pass me another chicken wing

  • ahhhh.... you're eating misery and suffering my friend

  • pass me another bowl then it taste like chicken

  • If there is any justice in the universe, and if there is indeed a hell, people like you will surely burn for eternity. Why? Because you realize what is being done to the animals is wrong, hence you feel bad for them. And yet, to sake your glutinous desires, you allow this to continue. Shame.

  • oh man....

i just got a half of a cow in my freezer... YUM!

i be eatin steak this winter!

  • Dumb-ass. Although I suppose Hell won't be such a bad idea this winter. I just paid the electricity bill and it is atrocious how much they have begun charging us.

  • Again, your idea that I deserve to be in Hell simply because I do not object to the consumption of animals is laughable.

  • this meat is good :) you should try some... i cook mine well done tho :P

  • Right, because I beleive the suffering of unintelligent creatures is as important as the suffering of intelligent creatures, I surely belong in this "hell" along with murderers, theives and rapists!

Also, no, I don't beleive it is wrong at all, and until I see evidence that chickens are on par with other intelligent animals, it will never be wrong for me, and no, I don't feel sorry for them at all.

  • Because you "don't" believe, you mean. And as far as I remember, gluttony was a sin like any other.

  • Really? Then perhaps you should read about other cultures, in which gluttony was not a sin, and was actually a sign of safety and security, in which you had enough money to buy food and provide for you family.

Maybe you should also stop assuming I am going to take your arguments based on "sin" fear of "hell" and poetry. None of those are offering a reasoned logical argument as to why it is wrong to eat and exploit less intelligent beings. (And I mean far far LESS intelligent, as chickens are)

  • Comment removed

  • the images with the chickens are just horrific, shame on us humans

  • amazing poor chicks

  • Słyszałem ostatnio dobry tekst w filmie Fight Club, który idealnie pasuje do tej części Baraka'i. Cytuję: "...jesteśmy tylko roztańczonym pyłem tego Świata...". Pozdrawiam wszystkich!

  • the chicks make me sad :(

  • watch it stoned ;)

  • I hope this video stops people from eating KFC... Humans are malicious bastards!

  • I totally agree with you! Hopefully people will wake up and realize the cost of their taste buds!

    Stop Kentucky Fried Cruelty!!!!!!!!

  • we need to stop eating all fast food! Organic, free range, sustainable, healthy. We need to change nearly everything about the way we live. At least us Americans.

  • LESS CONVERSATION AND MORE ACTION.

  • This is not about what u eat, its about how u live, its a paralel, and how humans choose 2 live like a mindeless product... at least those chikens didnt have a choice

  • Exactly. They don't have a choice. Which is why their case is more horrific.

  • They aren't sentient or self-aware. They dont know whats going on.

    We do.

  • "Answer me, machinist, has nature arranged all the means of feeling in this animal, so that it may not feel? Has it nerves in order to be impassible? Do not suppose this impertinent contradiction in nature." ~Voltaire

  • Yes, it can feel pain, feel pleasure, feel hungry etc etc.

But it is not intelligent and doesn't know what is going on. It can't worry about the future, about the state of its family, about the state of the environment. It can't ask itself deeper questions about it's own existance, or know that chickens mostly exist because we allow them to exist as food.

It really has no thoughts beyond satisfying its basic instincts.

We, on the other hand, understand all those things.

  • And how, pray tell, can you know this? It is extremely impertinent for you to imagine you understand the inner lives of animals. Google "elephant emotion" and you will see that these creatures grieve for the dead, have memories that surpass ours, communicate in sounds that we cannot hear. But elephants share our lifespan and are easier to understand. Who knows that the life of a chicken is not as rich as ours? A minute for a fruitfly is equal to ten years or more for us.

  • Chickens, AFAIK, don't have the mental capacity for any of those processes, which is what I was talking about. Chickens, not elephants.

  • You really missed my point there. Perhaps philosophy is beyond you.

  • I am in a philosophy 1 class right now, and philosophy is the study of problems through the use of reasoned arguments and logic. I have seen no evidence or reason to believe why it is "morally" wrong to eat animals who have lesser intelligence than us.

Perhaps you can point me to a reason why it is wrong to eat animals based on logican reasoned arguments and not on peotry, scripture and religion?

  • "We patronize them for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate of having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein we err, and greatly err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear."

From "The Outermost House" by Henry Beston

  • What shall we measure them by then, if not by our standards?

It also assumes they are complete and have senses we lost and hear things we can't. True, we don't have the best senses, but they can't see any celestial bodies through telescopes, they can't hear orchestra compositions, they can't study and learn the fundamental building blocks of the Universe like we can.

In the short timespan that man moved about this world, he completed far more than all the other animals combined.

  • Wait, I meant to say "they can't compose orchestra pieces".

Of course they can hear them, but they didn't make then in the first place.

  • I cannot understand your logic. Because they cannot compose orchestra pieces, hence you should not pity them? I cannot compose orchestra pieces. Retarded humans cannot compose orchestra pieces. There are humans that live lives even simpler than those of basic animals because their brains have at one point or another malfunctioned. Will you put them through factory farms and eat them too?

  • Why would I eat humans, even mentally retarded ones? Anyways, some people do eat dead human corpses as part of their culture, I see nothing wrong with it. I would never do it, but I have no problem with the idea.

I would, however, not eat a human simply because tey are retarded. They can still be put to good use, such as research subjects to better understand mental retardation, or techniques to fix it.

  • Lol! You have taken a weight off my mind. People like you don't need to be argued with. I can go back to sleep now.

  • "People like you don't need to be argued with."

Yes, I suppose because I didn't take your poety at face value then I am not a "worthy" debating opponent. Nevermind the fact that you have failed to show any reasoned argument as to why it is morally wrong to eat animals.

Maybe perhaps if I started quoting poetry and scripture at you, then maybe you'll listen?

Should I post the Bible quote where God says we have complete dominion over the Earth?

  • I don't think there is anything morally wrong with eating animals. However, watching people treating animals as products, as if they are without feelings, is disturbing, and the way we harvest them while they are alive is terribly immoral. It's natural for animals to eat other animals for survival, but no other animal, except us, tortures millions of other animals on a daily basis before killing them for food.

  • Which is why we have those humane treatment laws...

  • From what I have seen from different sources, even with those laws, animals are still not treated humanely.

  • Yes, but they are still there. That certain places choose to ignore the law doesn't mean that we are all torturing animals all the time.

  • Furthermore, at least animals in the wild have a fighting chance of not becoming another animal's meal. The animals that feed us... they have no chance. They live, from birth, as nothing more than a product for human consumption, and they are TORTURED along the way! Seriously, why burn the beak? Why?? It's so disgusting!!!

  • To stop them from attacking each other.

  • Thanks, I figured there had to be a reason, but I didn't know what that reason was.

  • i agree entirely, which is why i became vegetarian this year. thank you for understanding. i hate mankind almost entirely and would rather save a cat from a fire than a baby.

  • oh jesus fucking christ. bitch, who made that cmputer you're using? your car? your desk? you like being healthy? how about eating on e regular basis food that won't give you a disease?

yeah, the chicken thing is fucked up. but mankind is failing because of people like you. why not move to antartica, where there aren't any people? wonder how long you'll last.

you're just a waste of sperm. i pity your father for blowin his load to create a waste of space like you.

  • lol the internet, enabling the basement dwellers since the 90's gb24chan

  • i think it's some kind of marker? like on cattle. they burn their ass with a cattle prod. that i find dumb.

  • I was always taught to pity the weak, to aid the downtrodden. And who among our modern society, which is by no means as perfect as you pretend to assume it is, can deny that animals are the weakest, the most downtrodden of our time. Consider the enormity of human behavior regarding animals. Would Jesus the meek agree to skinning live animals, or to dropping them into scalding water kicking and screaming?

  • Yes, I take pity on those down on their luck too, but a chicken does not equal a poor homeless man.

I don't know what Jesus would say about animal cruelty, it was my understanding that Christianity holds that animals have no souls.

Anyways, its a moot point, as I am not religious in any way, so the opinion of Jesus would have no effect on my own.

  • Though I am an atheist now, I was raised Muslim and I know Prophet Mohammad was very fond of animals. I assumed Jesus was the same. They do compare him an awful lot to a lamb.

  • Great, you are an atheist. Perhaps then, you can give me scientific evidence that animals have intelligences on par with our own, have the ability to feel pain on par with our own and thus deserve pity and not being killed.

  • Oh my god, way to be an ignorant fool.

Animals do not have an intelligence equal to humans, but they can and do feel as much pain as we do. I can't believe how ignorant you are. Are you an evangelical? Because that would explain it.

  • "Animals do not have an intelligence equal to humans,"

Which is my point. They dont have equal intelligences to us, so therefore, it is no wrong to eat them. I mean fuck, whats up with everyone using "pain" as a method to establish morality?

I guess going by the "they feel pain, so it is wrong" standard, we shouldn't kill insects, and we should also step in all the time when amimals kill each other.

No I am not evangelical at all, I dont believe in any giant invisible sky pixie.

  • Overall, the question is simple. You have already agreed that animals do indeed feel pain. Should it not be human nature to try to minimize this pain as much as possible? I am not a Peta member. Though I am vegetarian myself I am also a biologist and I understand that this is a dog eat dog world. But I also know that we humans are the only ones on this planet who are capable of composing and prolonging such excruciating torture upon the animal kingdom. Consider that even a wolf kills swiftly.

  • Yes, it should be human nature to minimize the amount of *human* pain as possible.

A wolf kills swiftly because it needs to incapacitate its food as quickly as possible, to maximize its ability to catch food, not because it cares about the pain of the other creature.

  • RojOdio, you're right, but for the wrong reasons. Animals do feel pain, so they diserve to be killed quickly and painlessly. We are the ones of higher intelligence, we know what's right from wrong.

On another note, technically, humans no longer require meat. We've evolved to a point where meat is no longer a requirement for the development of our bodies.

  • "On another note, technically, humans no longer require meat. We've evolved to a point where meat is no longer a requirement for the development of our bodies."

What? I have never heard this before, if you can provide proof, then I will believe you.

  • This movie has so many incredible contrasts depicted through it, something really worth watching.

  • Jeden z ciekawszych momentów w filmie. Polecam obejrzeć całość.

  • I just saw this documental/Film and I just Love it!!!
