Just watched it last night, magnificent movie! They really don't make them like this anymore!

I watched this movie this weekend, and never realized the significance of the life of Barrabus, and the part he played in God's plan to reveal the Keys of Life to us. Of course Pilate thought of the ancient custom of releasing a prisoner; of course it was anyone but Jesus; of course the prisoner who was released was changed forever by the mercy and goodness of our God. Everytime I think I have learned of all the miracles Jesus performed, I am amazed by something else.

It's funny but "Barabbas" in a way He's unwittingly preaching the Gospel. "He meant me to live. He deliberately did it. He died in my place. THE DEBT HAS BEEN PAID! HE'S TAKEN MY DEBT." It's funny but by our nature we're all Barabbas. BUT THE HEART OF THE GOOD NEWS OF JUSTIFICATION IS IN THIS SCRIPT!

Anthony Quinn was an actor of the first magnitude. There was no role he played where he was less than totally believable, right down to the time he was a white-haired old man. (check him out in "A Walk in the Clouds" sometime with Keanu Reeves.
