How does the BB3 compare with the Alnico II Pro by SD? I have a new Les Paul Traditional with BB3 in the bridge...thinking about checking out a SD Alnico II Pro. However, the BB3 sounds pretty damn good IMO.
they are definately not the same company. epiphone is inferior to gibson in everyway possible. these days. when epiphone owned themselves and shortly after gibson bought them they were still good. now theyre all made in korea and suck some balls. gibson rock
@krootman12: stop over-exaggerating. i have an epiphone LP standard and a buddy of mine has a gibson LP standard and yes you can tell a difference, but its not sooooo big of a difference that it makes the epiphone shit in comparison. its the wood, the pickups and the tunners. you can spend half as much on an epi and build a pretty close replica of a gibson by upgrading pickups with the BBpro's.
when they werent owned by gibson and when they were still made in the US they did. now they are made in korea and probably the most disguting instruments you can buy.
im pretty sure epiphones do not have bolt on necks. and the factory probably made that guitar simply just to model the four different pickups for shows and stuff.
Ok I'm confused. He said the BB Pro has a hotter magnet, and is hotter than the BB3. But Gibson's website touts the BB3 as being the hotter model in the PAFish lineup. Which is correct?
From Hank: Heres the skinny on the comparison of the two models. Burstbucker 1, 2, and 3 use Alnico 2 magnets, and have an impedance of 7.5, 8.0, and 8.5 ohms respectively. Burstbucker Pro neck and bridge pickups are match the Burstbucker 1 and 2 respectively, but use the Alnico V magnet insteadmaking them slightly hotter. The Burstbucker 3 is still slightly hotter than the Burstbucker Pro models.
i have a banez guitar, and i have a BB Pro & 57 Classic plus no install, which one do you recommend in the neck and the bridge to play, ac/dc, metallica, funck, and classic rock
can you help me, i have a ibanez guitar and i have a 57 classic plus bridge & burstbucker pro bridge, what do you recommend for the neck and wich one for the bridge, i need a bell like clean and a hi gain, saturaded distortion, i play funk, classic rock, hard rock and sometimes metallica, ac/dc etc. the pickups aren't installed yet, i don't want to do magic, but a sound a little bit closer to that
alnco 2 vs 5 on sound and response?

I've seen a couple of videos with this same guy, same guitar, different days but he's ALWAYS out of tune!

thats because he is using an epiphone

I've owned six Gibsons and three Epiphones and I was able to keep all of them in tune.
A good musician never blames the gear.

Am I dreaming or blind....or is he really playing an Epiphone? With a double 6 string neck? I must be blind.
maxti6 3 years ago
The epis have bolt on neck, so more than likely he's just got another 6 string neck and slapped it on there.
