I was like 3 or something when I went, no 5. Anyway, my aunt is like super protective of me. She wouldn't let me go on nothin' but the water ride. A boy has his needs for thrills, let him ride!
I visited AstroWorld in '93 for that last time and didn't ride this ride. It was during spring break that year and the lines were horrendous for all the rides. Yes the ride is at sfot now but rethemed as the the Acme Rocket. I made the mistake of riding it with my kids a couple years ago. I found it rather painful.
My heart goes out to young people like you. You will never get to go on a date to Astroworld or spend a day there with your friends. We used to always head to Astroworld on the first day of Summer right after the last day of school. That was the best. My first trip to Astroworld was Sept.16 1976 on my 4th birthday, and I was there on the last day of operation. The City of Houston should have stepped in and stopped the closeing. Houston lost a real treasure.
They had this at Six Flags in New Jersey too. I loved it.
