I have the same problem with never winter nights 2, the fact is that the game not only need an especial direct 3D service but also it olny runs with grafic tagets of certain companies (G.force, N-vidia...maby ATI), for example if you have any intel grafic card no matter how nice it may be, the game will no run.........
as i see it is all about buissnes, but I DONT CARE DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS WITH DACE AND PAPER.....and a good dungeon mater.....WILL ALWAYS BE BETTER THAN ANY GAME
You do realize that Geforce graphic cards are created by Nvidia? Apparently not. Only certain companies such as ATI and Nvidia? Uh, who else is there that creates high-end graphics cards? Neverwinter Nights 2 isn't the most beautiful game out there, but it does require a lot of power, obviously if you have some cheap Intel card (and since you have one, I assume the rest of your computer isn't that great) It's not going to run well.
every plz respond my friend is having a problem in installing this game every time he tries to play it says need a compatible Direct3D device. so if this has happened to you respond if you know what to do respond plz!
i have had the same prolblem, although only on.. you know carriable pc's i can't remeber it in english. anyhow, it seems you can't install it on cartain machines or you just need to buy a special upgrade. i don't know so much more about, glad to help, sorry if not enough.

I got Intels E8400, GeForce 8800gts, 2gb ram with windows xp. Wich settings i could use in this game?

I remember those rooms! I dropped those encounters like two hot rocks! You should only really play the game on incredibly difficult level.
