I find the song about a wanted break up. All the 'stuff' that is thrown represents what a relationship can throw at you, also, listen closer to the lyrics. Look at it from a torn lover's view. What a ridiculous thing to say, The Kaiser Chiefs play at a much higher standard than Esser, the only way you would prefer Esser to The Kaiser Chiefs is simply because of musical taste, Kaiser Chiefs however, are a much better band, which is exactly why The Kaiser Chiefs were headlining and Esser were merely the opening band that everybody boo'd off.

Yh, everyone cheered when he said he was about to play his last song, people were shouting offensive stuff to him and shit, to be fair, myself and everyone I was with agreed completely that there was one song that wasn't horrific..

but afterall, everyone was there to see the black kids and kaiser chiefs, I guess Esser wasn't what they wanted to listen to.. I for one didn't think much of him or his backing band, drab performance to say the least..

Well, Esser is just the one guy, the other guys are his backing band. I really liked Kaiser Chiefs' earlier stuff, circa 'Employment' but I think that their more recent stuff is just rubbish, manufactured garbage.

Esser however, is fresh, new and brilliant. I can almost guarantee that when he makes it, you'll be saying that you saw him support Kaiser Chiefs.

I don't think I heard a single person boo'ing when I saw 'em, people never get into the support bands, and a lot of people just get bored...Which is understandable. No one really got into Black Kids when I saw 'em...I didn't think much of them I couldn't hear a word they were saying and I thought more of Esser's performance. His backing band needs more stage presence I agree. And Kaiser's were obvs amazing.

I hope Esser makes it and I know I'll probs buy albums and shizz of his.

And also, Black Kids are a great band too! If you actually listen to their album rather than just the stuff you might hear on Radio 1 when you're waiting to hear Keane's new single or whatever then you might be pleasantly surprised.

They have a very good repetoire of songs, but I wouldn't expect a bunch of Range Rover driving, anorak wearing Kaiser Chiefs fans to understand and appreciate that.

Fair play to you, not many people I know listen to support bands before they go to a concert, but I make a habit of it. Fair enough if you didn't like Black Kids, I think they're an awesome band, you don't. That's life.

But on the subject of Kaiser Chiefs fans, I think that's what they've evolved into. When they broke onto the scene they had quite a youthful fan core, but now I think that their fan core consists of those earlier fans' parents. They're just not the band they used to be imo.

Well, the thing is, he's just starting off. I'm sure when he grows in popularity and can afford to he will get a full backing band. Kaiser Chiefs are good live, but they've got stale. Seeing them live at first was great, but when I saw them last it just didn't look like they were enjoying themselves anymore. When I saw them the first time at Reading Festival in 2006, they were full of energy and were loving it. When I saw them last year they seemed bored onstage and like they weren't having fun.

And as for the kaiser chiefs loosing enjoyment, I'm sure that sort of thing happens when you're on exhausting tours and stuff but they seemed perfectly energetic when I saw them, probably wouldnt go and see them again playing by themselves just because I think like you said, it would get a bit stale.

I agree about the touring, I can see why they wouldn't be so energetic at the end of the tour, but when I saw them last year it was one of the first dates on their tour, not much excuse for tiredness there.
