So many Americans and people from other countries have been fooled by Communist Cuba's propaganda of Cuban being a bad country before the Revolution. In fact Cuba was the third country in the western hemisphere with the highest standard of living after the US and Canada. The cuban middle class was the highest in Latin America and the cuban peso was on pair with the US dollar. Don't take my words for this, do the research. Just make sure you use neutral documents, not leftists ones.
As bad as you make this seem. Life in Cuba before Castro was hell on earth for the majority of Cubans. CIA "assets" have ruthlessly killed innocent Cubans, and a famous one, the one who blew up the Cuban Airliner is on trial now in Texas, for fraud, not terrorism. I like your film, but alone it is harmful, and serves the interests ofthe MIC. Why not present this as part of a series, showing the growing pains of Cuba as a free and independent country?
Well,we keep changing one dictator for another.Who messured the majority of cubans?who did your numbers?Fifo?Okay maybe you are right, so who was ruthless killed by CIA.You are right terrorist are terrorist, but obviously you are not familiar with withElCurita, that has a park in Reina and let me turn you on to a site that tells you this revolutionary Martir place 100 BOMBS in one night. Movimiento 26 de July no doubt has TerroristRoots.
Americans and cubans do good business together its all about business and making money and living well whats wrong with that. Castro and his gangster regime just enjoys the power of having life and death over there people.
The revolution ended when Castro overthrew the US-backed regime of Fulgencio Batista... The youth of today in Cuba are losing patience with what you get when the military runs the show. Castro talks about the revolution in the present tense like an old senile confederate soldier who shoots first and thinks the war is not over. In school the young are taught to venerate sacrifices they make to keep the non-existant revolution alive. The youth wonder why they are being treated like they are stupid
When will America wake up to the fact that Cuban exiles are a 5th column of opportunistic political prostitutes ???
The Travel ban on Americans to Cuba is unlawful and the continued Miami based terrorism is a disgrace that the U.S. looks the other way on.
Time to tell the CANF and exile mafia in Miami that they are cast off guests - and thus should not interfere with the country that was nice enough to take in the gusano rift-raft to begin with.
Good documentary, Arockett. I lived in Cuba for years and I know the De Miranda family. Good people. Like fellow dissidents Oswaldo Paya, Martha Beatriz Roque and others, they are harassed and mistreated, not only by State Security but by thugs working under State Security's direction. Cubans live in a society permeated with fear. Fortunately, the fight against democracy and basic rights is unlosable. It may take some time, but in the end, Cubans will get their country back.
@kedekatan I agree with you. Eventually Cubans will get their country back but it is critical that the US stays out of Cuban affairs. The revolution was necessary for the country to wrest control from the US and American involvement has done nothing to help the Cuban people.
Good job Arockett!!! We need more documentals like these. It's sad that not many people who visit Cuba care to listen to what the dissidents have to say. They just hear the side of the government's; making their noble cause even harder.
Cuban citizens cannot express & say this in Castro's Oppressive Island, FREE CUBA NOW!!! 49 years of persecution & repression must end NOW! A New & True Revolution in the fight for Human Rights in Cuba & its People, Now! End the Misery & Bloodshed, & Slavery in Cuba, Now! THE COUNTRY OF 13 MILLION HOSTAGES will be set FREE! End the Slavery, NOW!
Good movie I have gave u 5 stars. Recently Castro got sick, I believe what Castro had created it's an desavantage Now.. he never allow another political figure close to him, so Cuba don't have another lider tha could be at the same clase of dictator. Good I glad that had happened!
Very good overall. However, the embargo allows for the sale of medical supplies and food to Cuba. Castro can't blame the lack of food and medicines on the embargo.
Cuba will be "free" when people like u ricky and those who have fled to Miami, stand up and fight (possibly dying) for what u believe in like what Castro and the now jailed dissidents did. then will cuba be "free".
jerry Castro never fought for anything. He hid in the Sierra Maestra until others kicked Batista out. Learn some history before you go off half-cocked on a subject you know nothing about.
Jerry, How can we fight from here?, I guess you are not aware that there have been times when the Cuban exiles have tried to inflitrate that country and the US has encarcerated these people? how about the Bay of Pigs, when the US back down on the cubans going there to fight? Read more about history and you will see that we have tried and keep on trying.
When will Cuba ever be free?! That tyrant is the only thing in the way of a free and democratic Cuba. He is afraid of ideas, they are the powerful weapons against. That's why he executes or jails doctors, teachers, journalists, and any one who speaks of freedom, human rights, and anything that might hurt his image. Down with castro, up with LIBERTY for CUBA!!!
