  • THANKS!!! Trying steel mandrels as puntys today :)

  • A picture down the center would have been nice! I like the dichoric effect though, good marble

  • where did you purchase that vortex mold with a handle? thats an awesome tool

  • @tubedreamspdx

    Hi there,

    I bought the cone shaper from C&R Loo.1 800 2271780

It is called: 'Kim Cone & Vessel Shaper" Approx $30.

There is also a really large V shaper on Ebay under "Weaverind"

    called "Fritts V-Block" for $75

    Thanks for watching.

    Randall

  • Hi PB,

    Thanks for your interest.

I will try to make a video in response to your request

    as soon as possible. Randall

  • Hi, thanks for sharing. Could you post something on using your steel mandrels vs glass? Beautiful work

  • first off, thanks a million for sharing. You mentioned that this is a cheetah. I'm thinking of ordering one. how does the size of that compare to a minor or mega minor by nortel?

  • Hello bakerman4444 ,

If you are planning on making marbles I would highly

recommend the Cheetah. When I made this Vortex marble I was using my oxygen generator. I since no longer use my generator to make marbles because I use oxygen cylinders. if all you are going to make are small beads you can go with a Nortel minor or Mega minor.

Since I have switched over to using Oxygen cylinders I can make 2 inch diameter marbles in it and in fact I make my living using my Cheetah making marbles.

  • @GeometricJewels whew! ok great thanks. im on tanked oxy and i plan on continuing that method. i was worried i picked out too small of an upgrade from my mega minor. (i also have a redmax but it's just tooo big) thanks again!!

  • @bakerman4444

Well, if you want the real deal you should go for the GTT Phantom. I am in the process of buying one. I had a Red Max also, it was a pain in the butt. One of the very nice things about the GTT's is that their body stays soooo very cool that you can touch the barrel with your hand and NOT get burned....unlike the Red Max!

Check my marbles at geometricjewels dot you know what Randall

  • @bakerman4444

    I second the Phantom.

Red max's go through oxy much faster than phantoms, they dont have nearly as much of a consentrated heat as a phantom and u can get a foot pedal with a 4-stag phantom.

you CAN get the redmax specially made so you can use a foot pedal though.

  • @bakerman4444 Phantom is going to produce a flame the size (or just bigger than) a mega minor for the center fire, and about the same as a Nortel Major/Red max on your outer flame, another good torch, that is designed to be used with Tanked or Oxy cons is a Scorpian, little less flame on the outer but you can work up to about 75mm Solid boro on it, not sure about soft glass though.

  • Randi, this one is so good, I couldn't keep away. In some ways it's like 'gone with the wind' especially in that NO matter how many times I watch I never grow tired of seeing it

  • Thank you for sharing

  • Randi, you are so cool it's amazing

  • nice job!
