what you guys don't realize is that wally szczerbiak was actually a very good role player and had a very smooth jumpshot. he was a decent defender and had a good iq of the game. was he an all star? no. a scorer? no. even a defnder? no. but he did have many entangibles that helped him in the NBA he definitely deserved to play as he always tried hard, and hustled.
@cvision17 I always noticed that haha IDK why I am not sure though i don't think its because its chaffing or bothering him. maybe it's just sorta like a mental thing now, sorta like lebron biting his nails, kobe's "jaws", paul pierce fake injury's, etc. just maybe something he does because it's progammed in his mind to do haha
as a T-wolves fan watching Wally back in the day his main problem is he is just to inconsistent. One day he looks like an All-Star calliber player like he once was and other days he looks like he shouldn't even belong in the league
JJ Reddick was a great player in college, now he sucks. Shelden Williams was drafted # 5 in his class, he hasn't done much, now has he? and don't even get me started about Kwame...just because you're in the NBA doesn't necessarily mean your the greatest thing since sliced bread.
That would be an astute statement. I'd go as far as to say that 99% of everybody who has ever been payed to play basketball are all better than us. Including guys from the '50s.
@cudder2313 Well, that's just hating, plain and simple. But I think when people say some average or below average player like Wally, Scalabrine, or...Adam Morrison, sucks, I think some of them actually get it into their tiny brains that they could actually play with some of these pros. To which I say, "Nay, nay!" Shawn Bradley, even now, would beat anyone of us keyboard warriors just off of jumpshots and any other non-pro player, too.
@Element1516 Finally someone has heard of John Pinette! I still stick to my categorization of Wally, he is now just an average player, maybe slightly above. He's average among the 250 or so guys who will always make a team in the NBA. But he's better than the average guy who just bounces on and off a team and spends most time in free-agency.
@TheAznPwns If you're joking: HAHA. If you're not: well there's a reason he's a pro basketball player. Not just that, he has been able to stay on a team his entire career which means he's not only better than all of us, he's better than the average NBA player, too. But, even if one of us had his skills, I know I'm not 6'9" and that the few people I've played against who were near that height would get their asses handed to them by Scalabrine.
@DuckwalkSupreme scalabrine is one of the worst players in the league.. not even close to average
but ur right about them being better than any one of us, i hear stories about retired nba players playing pickup with regular joes and completely dominating, names like greg buckner, few other guys who were never stars in the nba but supposedly unstoppable at someone's local rec
honestly its not just half of the nba who are better than us... its all of them and that includes their retirement home
@otyarzotm When I said "half of the shittiest player in the NBA," I literally meant if you took the worst guy in the NBA, cut him in half, he would still be better than any of us. But, I think the average NBA player is someone like Scalabrine. Think about how many guys are in the NBA, but spend most of their time as free agents or bouncing around from team to team just to fill out a roster. The average NBA career is only 4.82 years, whereas Scal has been around for 9 years.
@DuckwalkSupreme@DuckwalkSupreme yeahh...dissapointing that his career was shot-lived.....i play at his highschool currently and pass his jersey on the wall before every game.....im a sophomore....i hope to do half of what he did...
@joshbrownie911 Not disappointing for him, he's still a multi-millionaire : ) And if you do half of what he did, you'll be one, too. Besides, the average NBA career is only about 5 years and Wally played much longer than that.
@lasoogneypubes As I said before, I literally meant if you took the shittiest player in the NBA and cut him in half, he would still be better than any of us.
@DuckwalkSupreme Oh ok I never saw the comment where you clarified that. Maybe you should have said LITERALLY half of the shittiest NBA player is better than any 10 of us.
@lasoogneypubes Yeah, tone is hard to infer from writing, especially typing when you can't do thinks like bold, italics, or underscoring. Had I been speaking, I'd have done a better job of getting my joke across.
@DuckwalkSupreme Well I think I read your comment like you typed it with bad grammar. You said, "Half of the shittiest NBA player" and I read it as "Half of the shittiest NBA players"
@DzekoVelez Not at all. The dude had a couple of really good scoring seasons. His prime as a player was short lived, but he was very good for a short time. Plus, he's got one of the coolest names ever; Wally Sczerbiak.
@DzekoVelez No, the original point I was making was against all these Youtube nerds who say one NBA player or another is garbage or can't do something. My point was, they are still professional basketball players and that if you took the one of the worst players in the NBA, say Brian Scalabrine, and literally cut him in half, he would still be miles better than any of us.
what you guys don't realize is that wally szczerbiak was actually a very good role player and had a very smooth jumpshot. he was a decent defender and had a good iq of the game. was he an all star? no. a scorer? no. even a defnder? no. but he did have many entangibles that helped him in the NBA he definitely deserved to play as he always tried hard, and hustled.
