Hmmm like someone said apparently it came from USA maybe they were saying what they 'thought' an Irish person would say i have no idea, things stick i guess, most people probably don't know that Irish people don't say it, but then its not a bad phrase, well it's no worse than seeing an American doing a British accent with a posh voice [They'd prob be shocked to hear a Northern, Liverpudlian etc accent] oh yeah their French portrayals are always rude & stuck up, what is it with Americans anyway!
