Bombela - how about an actual link of "TICKETS and FARES" not a YOUTUBE video. not to mention how RIDICULOUS your call centre is - do you think I want to spend 5 minutes listening to your recorded voice tell me how amazed he was to find out that it cost R1,30p/km without insurance to travel on the roads!!!??? no, i just want the bloody fares without actually having to download a brochure, watch a video or listen to your inane, useless call centre recording!!
All very well but - they should ensure that their Call Centres understand or ensure that they give the correct info. I was so looking forward to riding the Train but, after making enquiries (twice) with the Call Centre, they gave me the wrong fare and, needless to say, when I found the fare Pretoria to OR Tambo to be R125 - my husband and I decided it was not worth it. We drove to OR Tambo in 40 min and cost much less than the Train fare! They need to revise the fares urgently.......
Where can we see if busses are taking us to towns where the Gautrain is not stopping? for instance going to Randburg, the train stops in Midrand, would we be able to take a bus to Randburg and back to Midrand?
How the hell am I going to afford it? And what is it going to cost to get to and from the station. our government just steals our money, adds toll roads so that Government officials can have nice cars and big houses while the rest of the people are cold and hungry.
I assume that existing cards can be registered as was the understanding when they were purchased. The registering section on the web site states “to apply to register a new Gold Card” and “purchase of your new card with us”.
Please show on the web site how and where to register existing cards.
The Gautrain is very easy to use and avoids traffic. Please can we have a SA residents fare to and from ORT - the R105 fare is a rip off and does not make sense considering that you can travel to Rhodesfield a take a waiting Taxi to ORT for a fraction of the price!!!
@gjngeldenhuis Gautrain was unable to make competitive bus tarifs because of taxi operators in Johannesburg. This was the concession made by Gautrain in order to have any busses at all, that is why it is so linked with actually taking the train.

a great train system spoiled by a overly complex fare system that is not designed to be fair or encourage people to use for example only the bus.
