Here's a bit of Nepal's history and its flag.
The term "Nepal" is first found in 'Atharva Parishista' (4th Century B.C.) believed to have derive from the term "Nepa"
The term "Kirat Desh"or Kirat Country is found in the earlier documents such as veda and other ancient Hindu texts.
The Nepal flag is the derivation of Kirat flag.

Hence Nepal flag is the oldest and most unique in the world.
