  • yah actually it can, and if your gonna sit there and tell me you haven't run into some weird windows bugs then either you haven't been around windows enough or your lieing.

  • @KMSalex Really? Do you have a video of this?

  • @codebean your missing the point. linux can be buggy, we all know that. but so is windows now and then, and that's just... fact. i used windows for my first few years on a computer.

More importantly you put up this video that does nothing but... well troll to be honnest.

  • Well since KDE can run on Windows natively, the answer is yes Windows can do this.

  • can it run games or have any programs that are actually stable?

    haha jk

  • get a ipad2 , life is a lot beter

  • @macspwnufail I'd rather get a an android tablet it runs on linux then I can have floating menu's just like this :P

  • @codebean enjoy your 1 hr battery life lol

  • @macspwnufail Motorola xoom has up to 10 hours enjoy having to cough up extra money for adapters & a new phone if you don't already have an iphone 4 just for features that the xoom can do out of the box. Ipad 2 is proprietary junk.

  • @codebean iPad 2 is nice IMO

  • @JamesManes Yeah that was my first impression, but after looking at it I think the android tablets have more going for them. The main advantage the ipad has is the apps but really the only useful one to me is imovie & honeycomb has an app that looks just as mint as imovie. Then there's the hardware & the os, & there's just too much proprietary hardware with the ipad + I really like where androids heading there's pretty neat development taking place with the android os whereas ios is a bit old.

  • The one who made that distro couldn't be bothered :D

  • I SOO WISH WINDOWS COULD BE THIS BUGGY LOLOL

  • I have seen Windows do many things in the past. That is not one of them. lol

KDE is really taking the lead here. Gnome's 3.0's "Activities" side bar is a bit weird in my opinion.

  • This is WAY cool!! Thanks!

  • 2011 is clearly the year of the Linux desktop.

  • Something a lot of Linux users never mention. The GUI can get messed up.

  • @korwinblue Yeah to be fair, it's really only kde that's buggy the menu thing was a result of kwin crashing due some flash website, but kwin does crash quite a bit on all versions of kde I've used. However the Home folder does that all the time,it's a shame too tho coz apart from that kde is pretty awesome.

  • Fedora sucks

I'm actually looking forward to KDE 4.6, but I'm waiting for it to be patched by other distros. (Like PCLinuxOS, Opensuse, Debian, etc) Fedora sucks in that department and I could just get a maverick PPA or something, but it's not patched.

This is what happens when you're on bleeding edge, I tried arch and there was a shit load of xorg crashes.

  • @commodore256 Yeah Fedora is pretty terrible but for some reason I decide to stick with it instead of other distro's, I'm pretty sure I'll eventually sort the bugs out I've made headway with all the other bugs in Fedora.

    What distro you using atm?

  • @codebean Umm... Windows 7. But I Run Debian on my laptop and Mac.

Well, it's because I have an AMD card and I'll try CENTOS 6 when it comes out because AMD makes drivers for enterprise level Distros and CENT is a clone is Redhat unbranded.

I like Rock solid Distros that have been patched like Debian and Redhat/CENT. But another good Distro would be Opensuse, PCLinuxOS, Linux Mint

  • @commodore256 You my friend have good taste when it comes to linux distros SUSE,PCLOS & Linux Mint are my top 3 for distros that "just work" mint debian that is I not fan of ubuntu or it's derivatives. But i'm sucker for distros that provide a challenge like gentoo, slack, arch & yeah you guessed it fedora.

  • @codebean I guess you could edit a PKGBUILD or ebuild to use distro specific patches in those advanced distros I remember I once edited an arch PKGBUILD to use the ubuntu notification and without the ubuntu patch, your notifications look like a post-it note.

I like the advanced ones, but I hate bugs. So, I'm really into Debian Stable.
