I think that England seriously needs to think about what is right and fair for English people. Perhaps now it is time for an English parliament?? I for one am totally disillusioned with the political set up in the UK. I have always voted Labour, but now I just do not want to vote for anyone.

My protest vote in the Euro elections is going to the Eng Dems. I'm a member of the Conservative party but I'm sick and tired of the wasting money of the EU and I'm a firm believer in English votes for English issues.

But I have higher prioritys in stopping the banks getting money from all of us and fighting the food crisis that will be global warming, and making existing parliaments democratic(As supposed to choosing evil A,B or C every 5 years). So Iv voted Green (early postal voat) but want to know if you have policies on these other issues?
There are already political parties - the Greens and Lib dems- who advocate regional parliaments and a new settlement that gives constitutional equality throughout the UK. Why bother with this party? Apart from being "English", what does it stand for- public services? privatisation? high tax? low tax? And we don't pay for European railways - but we subsidise private UK rail companies to more than double the amount we used to subsidise BR. Greens would renationalise - what would the ED do?
Scotland and Wales only have devolved governments with pretty limited powers. Westminster retains sovereignty over both of them. Plus, we have MP's in our separate constituancies and they have open hours for a reason. If you have an issue, it is easy to take it up with your MP and they can bring it up in the House of Commons- in the English Parliament. Fair enough, Scottish and Welsh MP's shouldn't be allowed to vote in Westminster but their representation in Westminster isn't exactly vast...
Pretty limited powers? Like Arts, Culture & Sport, Environment, Business and Industry, Education and Training, Environment, Farming, Health and Community Care, Transport. Are devolved issues. That's pretty comprehensive.

In my opinion devolution shouldn't have happened. Westminster is the English Parliament. Nations with their own assembly should go it alone and only use taxes collected by their own assemblies. We've already paid for the building of them. With only English citizens in Westminster the problem is solved. Don't spend vast amounts of money creating another parliament filled with even more MPs, all needing pay too. How far would they get living solely on taxes collected in their own countries?
That's obvious but my point is the british Parliament built the devoled government buildings so why spend more money. These countries have purpose built new buildings for their parliaments. My suggestion was save money and use the building we have Westminster. With just English CITIZENS as representattion.

English Democrats have no links with the BNP or any other political party, and seek simply to provide political representation for England in the same way that the SNP (Scottish National Party) provides a Scottish political representation and Plaid Cymru provides political representation for the Welsh.

Another point is that the English get free care homes for the elderly. My Dad has dementia and my mum and I have to look after him with the minimal of help. If we were to put him in a care home it would cost us around £20k a year. However if we lived in England we would get this free. Swings and roundabouts my friend.

I don't think it would be the end of the union if England gets its own parliament. We can have one parliament (UK) to deal with foreign affairs, national security, defence etc. And each national parliament can take control of things like education.

Yeah right! Hitler kissed babies too. I had two of these mini Nazie BNP fools knock on my door. Both in suits. Both smiling and talking softly. Until I argued with them. Then the smiles vanished. Because the leftwing media hyped up the BNP and gave them free advertising - as a way of scaring people into voting Labour. It backfired. Hopefully next time they'll give all parties fair publicity. I only heard of the English Democrats after seeing their Mayor elect speak on BBC news. Media don't publicise Eng Dems as many reasonable people would vote for them.

No, nick griffin clearly stated after he won his seat that only illegals and asylum should be deported. No-one in this country is 100% british. He also stated that legals, paying tax and contributing, are ok to stay. I blame economics and political correctness for the immigration problems. They propose "firm but voluntary incentives for immigrants and their descendants to return home" and does not regard non-white people as being ethnically British, even if they were born in the UK and are British citizens.

But I have higher prioritys in stopping the banks getting money from all of us and fighting the food crisis that will be global warming, and making existing parliaments democratic(As supposed to choosing evil A,B or C every 5 years). There are already political parties - the Greens and Lib dems- who advocate regional parliaments and a new settlement that gives constitutional equality throughout the UK. Why bother with this party? Apart from being "English", what does it stand for- public services? privatisation? high tax? low tax? And we don't pay for European railways - but we subsidise private UK rail companies to more than double the amount we used to subsidise BR. Greens would renationalise - what would the ED do?

Scotland and Wales only have devolved governments with pretty limited powers. Westminster retains sovereignty over both of them. Plus, we have MP's in our separate constituancies and they have open hours for a reason. If you have an issue, it is easy to take it up with your MP and they can bring it up in the House of Commons- in the English Parliament. Fair enough, Scottish and Welsh MP's shouldn't be allowed to vote in Westminster but their representation in Westminster isn't exactly vast...

Westminster is the UK parliament and it serves the UK at the expense of England.

Not a vast representatation, Blair is a Scot, his replacement Gordon Brown is a Scot, Michael Martin the outgoing speaker is a Scot, Alistair Darling is reported by the BBC to feel Scottish and lives in Edinburgh and the surface has only been scratched there are many others. Cook who is no longer with us was a Scot. So from 1997 the Scottish representatation has been vast as the Prime Ministers for 12 years have been Scots still think representation isn't telling?

In my opinion devolution shouldn't have happened. Westminster is the English Parliament. Nations with their own assembly should go it alone and only use taxes collected by their own assemblies. We've already paid for the building of them. With only English citizens in Westminster the problem is solved. Don't spend vast amounts of money creating another parliament filled with even more MPs, all needing pay too. How far would they get living solely on taxes collected in their own countries?

Its a shame that they missed out the fact England temporaly no longer exists since 2002,the EU decided to cut england out of the world because we had no parliament nor head of state,so we wernt represented and just kicked of the maps. We now currently viewed as 9 seperate regions, not england. It's refreshing to see somebody saying things we all want to say but seem to be too afraid. We are made to feel embarrassed to be English. We even get criticised for flying our own flag or for being patriotic! Try asking anybody from Scotland to stop displaying the St andrews cross. Try asking a Welshman to stop flying the dragon or asking an Irish man to hide the tricolour. You'd get laughed at or beaten up! they're proud and so should we. If people really wanted more Devolved parliaments like the one suggested here, they would have voted for them when presented with the oppurtunity like in 2004 for the North East. English Democrats? Another point is that the English get free care homes for the elderly. My Dad has dementia and my mum and I have to look after him with the minimal of help. If we were to put him in a care home it would cost us around £20k a year. However if we lived in England we would get this free. Swings and roundabouts my friend.

Thats a stupid argument. Eastern European countries have worse infrastructure than we do so they need grants more. If Europe as a whole is more developed it would help everyone. Trading with these companies will become less expensive. You're argument is the same as saying why give to Oxfam we're not going to get any money from it.
How much money does the UK treasury receive in Scottish oil? Scotland gets those things because we voted for them so our taxes go towards that instead of elsewhere.
