Omg, I always thought the U of T fight song "The Eyes of Texas" was the state song! Grew up in Sooner Red Territory so my dad led me to believe the OU fight song was the Oklahoma state song and U of T was the same for Texas.....I guess it's only true in football season!

Miz Marsh; our music teacher at St Alice Parochial School in Ft Worth, made us sing this every day, her brother wrote it...I once won a contest at the Lone Star Cafe in NYC because I knew this was the real state song....Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys made me sing it!!
