i have a pair of the 5-stripe engines (It will pull the Broadway Limited someday). great runners, but a little loud. i need to redo some CV's because i don't have the horn or bell and take the momentum out of it. Also, the short drawbar, makes it look even better.
I like the look of the centipedes in HO scale the most. The O scale are okay, but they look kind of bulky.

I've noticed some of the Pennsylvania engines are red, while others are green. Does anyone here know what the reason for this is

@starguard They are just different schemes. The tuscan red is more of a passenger scheme while the brunswick greed is more freight.

Some article explain this axis style as "2-D-D-2" too. This real engine name is "Baldwin DR2-8-3000" with 3000 horse power per unit.

Technically, same wheel arraingement as a Big Boy:4-8-8-4, although some prefer 4+D+D+4.
