  • @cutiebopper ...um no. Not really.

  • Wat a pathetic disgrace to both gene kelly and d original song.........

  • @riniantony its not a disgrace, there is a history in comedy of comedians parodying other forms of entertainment - its what comedy is all about

  • @riniantony Actually Gene Kelly saw this and not only did he approve of it, he also found it incredibly amusing!

  • more happieness, true but how about more lady gaga huh you with me

  • haha

  • i just love this clip, it's so classic, it makes me cry with laughter everytime i see it, it's also so very emotional watching it now they are both dead, so much talent and they brought so much happiness

  • I want to do an experiment whether those 52 dislikes can singin' and dancin' in a desert.

  • Don´t know you but i, personally, HATE the laugh lines!!!

  • What can I say??? can''t keep going on... want to watch it again...

    Majella

  • Lol. This is too funny.

  • true baritones nowadays . . .. they've disappeared.

  • i hate the laugh line on it, i wanna hear hes voice

  • How can anyone dislike this?

  • What's the name of the song they sing after the skit? It sounds a lot like Mack the Knife, but I hope it's a real song!

  • @Kakarot21591

You on about 'Bring Me Sunshine'?

  • What do you think of it so far?

  • I'll tell you what.... some people have compared Ant and Dec with Morecambe and Wise which illustrates the decline of western culture perfectly. And I'm a geordie.

  • @chris10702090 I don't think anyone can compare to Morcombe and Wise, though as you said, people compare Ant and Dec to them. I would have to partially agree, although no one can compete with the original, Ant and Dec are probably the closest to them out of all present day presenters and comedians. Oh and I forgive you for being a geordie :P LOL

  • Really great sketch!!!!

  • Not seen this sketch since i was a kid :D It's brilliant :)

  • Eric Morecambe, even seeing his statue in Morecambe made me smile. M&W, sheer bliss.what do I think of it so far? RUBBISH!! Making me smile as I type this, lol.

  • i'm wet through, folks!

  • The BEST, ever. Mitchell & Webb, Reeves and mortimer, and Harry & Paul are nowhere near as good as this pair!!!!

  • ahhh, my sides hurt, this is so good.

who performed this? i would like to see more. :D

  • Two facts about this sketch. First, when Gene Kelly saw it, he cracked up. Second, the whole thing was donein one take.

  • ledgends of comedy right here :D

    <3

  • When you think about it, those of us who grew up in the late 1960's and through the 1970's, we were really spoilt in the amount of quality TV and we didn't realise it - UNTIL now. With the endless rubbish that is now aired on virtually every channel - endless reality shows that, quite frankly, are tiresome. There is a shallow comedy and a void of real entertainers now.

It is a great shame because true comedy and entertainment should be endless. Alas, today's producers just haven't got a clue.

  • Saw M & W on the South Pier show, Blackpool, circa 1960. Little did I realise then what great stars they would become. At the top of the bill in that show were Glenn Melvyn and Danny Ross. Anyone remember them?

  • I just love this routine. It takes a classic dance from the best musical of all time and gives it a wonderful twist. I remember watching their show every week and they were so clever with their comic homages to classic movies or genres. This sketch was shown to Gene Kelly on a visit to England and he absolutely loved it. It was not poking fun at him, it was giving him the highest praise. Incidentally, both M&W could tap dance but chose not to, that's one of the things that makes it so funny.

  • Very funny - in memory of my dear dad : ) xxx

  • Omg lol I seen this before, years ago on tv. These 2 comedians are legends.

  • gene kelly may have had to do several takes...considering he had pneumonia when he filmed this scene in singing in the rain i think the original was far more impressive not to mention iconic..this sketch is ok...

  • -_- the guy in here could have at least tap danced in this...I can't tell if this is making fun of Gene Kelly or what :(

  • OMG :D ... this really brought a smile to my face ... this is genuine humor and joy in a perfect combination.

  • @NISHIDAEASSOCIADOS

Youre probably a fan of Harry and Paul, then!!!

  • Raping and pillaging come to mind XDXD

  • I just can't not smile when I watch this.

  • EJejjeejjejejejeejjeajjajj,,It´s really funny :)

  • you're singing in the rain but it doesn't rains.... o.O

  • marvelous

  • ????????????????????????????????????????????????

  • Its Raining (Dancing In the Rain) Again, From Breton2Robert is and absolute surprise

  • FANTASTIC i stumbled on this by sheer chance while looking for the orignal, Genious i grew up with these 2 comedy greats!

  • Comment removed

  • Did you know they did this whole scene in one take. He was also sick during the filming of this part so that why they only did this in ont take. So he could get some rest. Since his suit is made of wool his suit shrinks when the water mixed with milk to show up on camera.

  • NO he did not do that in 1 take that is just a big fat rumor it really took 2-3 days because he kept messing up because he had a fever of 103 i know cause i did a report on it

  • @ObyandShebee

Gene Kelly did not do the routine in one take. This comedy sketch WAS done in one take because they had no time to do more than one take. They were very worried that the sketch wouldn't work right the first time.

  • wrong

  • he can sing

  • fiu ,fiu ...hahaha

  • Now THIS is comedy.

  • Classic!!!

  • im wet thru folks...

    cant beat em..

  • singing in the rain

  • Muito bom!

  • Comment removed

  • No you're totally wrong. This is real humour. It translates into any language, there's no swearing, no sexual content ... M&W knew how to be funny. People stayed in to watch their TV programmes on Saturday nights - they didn't go outr until they'd seen them. If that's typical, give me more!

  • not enough bombs huh

  • @kejcolley

LIke Carry on Films they were of their time. There was swearing and sexual content in comedy, it just wasn't allowed on the telly.

I can watch this and enjoy it, like I can watch Carry on Screaming, because I can transpose my mind back to the time it existed in. To modern audiences the humour doesn't work, because they didn't grow up in a time when (on the telly), sex was fine, as long as nobody got any.

The past is a foreign country, they do things differently there.

  • What is this from?

  • The Morecambe and Wise Show, classic comedy from the 70s.

  • is that him the one who made the real one?

  • hell naw. look up Gene Kelly Singing in the Rain

  • For a second i'm like WTF IS THAT GEORGE BUSH? o_0

    XD

  • Yeah, right. Frankie Howerd, Larry Grayson, John Inman, Kenneth Williams, Jimmy Edwards, Hugh Paddick were never funny. Or gay.

  • HA HA LOL

  • Boo!!

  • Haha that so funny.....right at the beginning the gaurd haha....funny....craked me right up.....

  • Thats laugh tracks for ya.

  • I think they both should've been given awards for this - Ernie for dancing and Eric for his comic timing.

  • If you're not kidding, you're an idiot!!

  • bring back morcambe and wise. all we got these days is russell brand's faggotry

  • lmao

  • Thank you so much for uploading this brilliant clip! ( :

  • Another classic

  • This was Live and the audience are there and the reason for no rain?!? Well they had planned on getting it to rain but it turned out they couldn't because it would have electrocuted everyone. But NO rain just adds to the comedy. Classic :)

  • Yes, That was the whole point in the original sketch. It was never ment to rain. Thats what makes it funny.

Singing in the rain with but its not raining, thats the whole theme.

  • the lagthas are irritating

  • Comedy genius like we'll never see on tv agian :(

They also did the whole song in one take becouse they couldn't afford to keep changing eric out of wet policemans uniforms.

  • Really good stuff.Viva Eric and Ernie!

  • Awesome. Do you have one without the candid laughter, it ruins the song.

  • It's not canned, it's live. There's no other version.

  • I could see my self doing that. I wish life were a musical

  • ABSOLUTELY CLASSIC

  • I'm wet through folks I'm wet through... love it, so easy to watch and give the chuckle muscles a work out. Apparently Gene Kelly was shown this version and loved it, what a tribute to a fantastic dancer, well done boys.

  • That cops like what the fuck man lol.

    .

  • Grew up watching these two. Miss them - nobody like them since.

  • i didn't find it as funny as the audience did

  • You are too young to appreciate and know the comedy, because many factors of living in that day play into what the comedy is all about. Get to know the era and you will laugh too.

  • "Where's the rain"? dim432 - that's the point, that's what makes the sketch inherently funny. o

  • This is just perfect! XD Love the part where the police officer starts to dance too ^^

  • I have to do this sketch at school playing Wise. I'm bloody nervous!

  • Thats genius!!!

  • So sad there gone !

  • pretty funny for the police offier because he will always get wet when that guy sing I am sining in the rain

  • les rires gache tout

  • I don't know what show that was from, but that was hilarious!!!

  • it was from , i would imagine, the morecambe and wise show . very funny .

  • Then you, my friend, need to introduce yourself to the works of the late, great, Morecambe & Wise (Eric & Ernie). This, along with the 'Andre Previn' and 'Breakfast' sketches was amongst some of their best work. Their humour was gentle, warm, and exceptionally funny. In their time celebrities would have happily donated body parts to appear on their Christmas shows. I could go on, but instead I urge you to seek out and view more of their stuff - you'll thank yourself!

  • rsrsrsrs é uma maravilha de video meus parabens

  • lol lol lol lol lol

  • risos... ótimo! :P

  • this is funny

  • mdrrrrrrrrrr ;) exellent

  • i love it, I don't think they're taking the piss in a bad way, it's just meant to make people smile. We should all dance down the street like this, the world would be a much happier place. Sing along everyone.....

  • Oh Shut up you twat. "Oh no I love this movie, you can't make fun of it"...virtually every film has had some light fun poked at it. Anyway Gene Kelly saw this and was in tears of laughter. So if the star of the film can appreciate a bit of light humour, why can't you?

  • its not made to insult the movie singing in the rain, their just having a little fun, besides one of the best scenes in that movie is "make them laugh", and thats exactly what their doing.

  • what's the name of the song with bring me sunshine bring me love?i love it!^^

  • Thats the name Bring Me Sunshine

  • thanx

  • Its called bring me sunshine

  • gene kelly did luv this version of singing in the rain...lots of other people have copied it but he luved morecambe and wise skit!!!

    luv the end....bring me sunshine!

  • Actually, not long after this was shown there was a variety club dinner for Gene in London and they showed this to him. He loved it !!!.

  • Brilliant. That was done in one take.

  • Morcambe and wise were brilliant!!!!! I soo glad this has been put up theres a website with clips from all their shows if you search for it.

  • what did the cop lay down in?

  • a Troff.

  • ok anyone else notice that he was "singing in the sunshine"?

  • yes....i think every veiwer has, it's called a comedy sketch.

  • The cop's like WTF is the rain?!

  • What the heck is this from? That was AWESOME! Gene Kelly would have loved it I bet.
