I played every manager with FC Bayern (my favourite foreign club) and always used 4-1-2-1-2 tactics (or so called "4-4-2 Diamond Attacking). Result: I won 90% matches in FM 2005, and about 80% in FM 2008. I applied this tactics to R. Madrid and Chelsea, and it works for me!

it depends on the team, idiot. and that's the end of the argument.

i played 4-2-3-1 and set a new unbeaten record, finishing with 100+ points.

you choose your tactic based on the players. i did that because i had a quality AM C, two balanced centre mids, a hench drogba style lead striker.

there is no such thing as a perfect tactic. it's just common sense to have (for example) a pairing of a defensive midfielder and a creative one.

I've tried this tactic with a good Grimsby Town side (in terms of the players I've signed, such as Aaron Ramsey, but not a good side based on results) - I basically leak goals left, right and centre.
