Quinn argues against anthropocentrism; however, there is no alternate method. If mankind were to bestow upon other creatures equality, then we would not only be still be the ones granting the worldly power, but also, be attempting to discover the intent of nature. Man shall never deduce the aim of nature because nature has no specific purpose. Man can not revert to biocentrism since they have already established dominance over the world.
ishmael was one of the worst books i have ever read.
the contents were good, but the fact that the gorilla is teaching this to a human, and he is able to write is just ridiculous and made it hard to take seriously.
@talkin2myself246 Its philosophy portrayed in a way similar to the Socratic Method. That it is a gorilla has nothing to do with the underlying message. It could have been a cricket in a box as far as the message is concerned.
This is typical ignorance of "taker" culture. You are not listening to what "mother culture" has portrayed througout this novel. If you really understood Ishamel, you would not be posting videos about how great it is.
you should! if the author didn't want you to know about it why would he have recommended it to us. Daniel Quinn is not a money driven man. In fact he is very modest. I tell everyone to read it!
@bootme21 yea i agree with you bootm21 lol i think it's cool you are recommending this book. i'm almost at the end of it. definitely very thought provoking. laxlaxloo's comment made me laugh tho. alwaysss haters. ;D
@bootme21 one of the core messages of the book is to spread the law that it proposes and bring it to peoples attention. not keep it for yourself and feel like your the smartest person you know. promoting it is a good thing fuck em.
ishmael says nothing of "evangilization" being negative. Didn't the gorrila indeed want to educate others and encourage him to spread his knowledge? laxlax... kant would spit on you for this comment. your are simple pessimistic and angry. good video bootme21!

I like to think that the only reason Ishmael is an ape in the book rather than a human is so it wouldn't end up in non-fiction
