  • it doesnt seem very christian or sporting of a salvation army bandsman from anywhere having these arguments... final result is, that Dr Stephen Cobb is the conductor and he has the final decision, and if you are playing a march that on 'a march of witness' then you play it at a pace you can march at.... this is a festival, you play it how the conductor wants to. simples.

  • I will refer you to Black Dyke's recent cd of Salvation Army marches. They're one of the absolute best brass best in the universe, conducted by Dr. Nicholas Childs. Their recording shall be regarded as the definitive Montreal Citadel recording, and they, knowing it's a street march, play it at the proper tempo.

  • pretty sad aint you mate! once again DR . Stephen Cobb is our BM - and if you listen there both the same tempo, And if you know your stuuff ISB and Dyke have just done a recording together

  • It's funny to see the "young" guys who think they know so much more than the more talented and mature musicians who have been around so much longer. LCB is very good, but get with the right speed....get a metronome.

  • I think you need to find a metronome and check out the speed. LCB is a good band but they do not always keep up the speed!

  • ENJOYED THIS - See Texas Youth Brass on H15GWP.

  • Talk to Dr.Stephen Cobb think he knows best mate!

  • I suppose you're familiar with the ISB and their chronic super-speeding through music? As conducted by Stephen Cobb...

  • IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THAT FAST!

  • Be sure to listen to Texas SA Brass.

  • EXCUSE ME!!! wat band are you from??? The International Staff Bandmaster is conducting us!!! You think he's wrong I DONT!!!! who do you play with then? HAHA!

  • London Citadel Band. Ever heard of us?

  • London Citadel Band plays most things quite slowly. This piece is played the correct tempo.

  • Sorry mate, wrong again.

  • I think he is very wrong, along with a vast number of the notes!!

Are there any percussionists playing?? Because they cannot be heard other than a cymbal (weak) smash at 2:59

  • I read this comment as I pressed play, and just at the start alone, I can hear a cymbal quite clearly at 0:19, 0:31, and can hear drums throughout...!

  • :( It's not supposed to be that fast...it's a street march!!!

  • Indeed. Stephen Cobb is well known for racing a band to the finish

  • Bravooo! that was awesome! i love it ...that was great! Salvation Army has the very best band in the world. Clap clap

  • I remember trying to sight read this back in my euph days...not pretty!!!
