  • Wonderful . One of Dad's favorite songs.

  • @jimruthw Thanks for the comment. You're dad has a "good taste" in songs. I like it too.

  • Never in all my born days have I heard such magnificent gospel music, and so well played by both of you!! I hope it sounds like this in heaven, cuz thats how good you guys are!!!

  • @drawbars82 Thanks for the compliment. I like playing the organ while Jack playes the piano because he covers all of my mistakes!!

  • I love this!!! Reminds me of Nazarene Campmeeting days about 20 years or so ago!! I attend a Baptist church now that has an excellent music program but is more formal.

  • Wow, Southerncrescent1401, that gives me hope. I really was trained in the hymns and when we talk of "NEW" stuff, I think of praise songs/choruses from the 1970's, & 1980's. Obviously im behind the times. But I make no appollogy for loving those old wonderful , spirit filled hymns. And with today being PENTECOST, oh I choose some old goodies! Keep on Praisin'!

  • I do also think its sad some churches dont have live music anymore. or the ones that dont have piano and organ anymore--. Praise bands are nice but they can incorporate pianos and organs. It does not have to be either/or- i dont know why people think contemporary cant be done on piano (or especially organ) Its a matter of "know-how". Im learning right now because I know I have to keep up with some of the newer music, to attract young people into the church. They dont seem to be drawn to hymns!

  • @anthonypaul2 Thanks for the comment. You don't have to worry about attracting young people with modern music. Check my video of "The Joy of Heaven" Several of these kids are bus kids and we still sing the old hymns. No contemporary. We have other young people who are not in the choir nor in this video. In Jeremiah 6:16 tells us to stay in the old paths. Remember Cain and Able. Cain chose to go a new path by bringing fruit and vegatables instead of a blood sacrifice is his father had done.

  • I'm totally digging the piano part!

  • @auaiao9 Thanks. Jack is one of the best piano players in this region. His 1935 Kurtzmann piano that he is playing is known as "A piano player's piano". It has a bright crisp sound and very easy to play. I enjoy listening to his playing as well. Thanks again for watching and for the compliment. Sincerely, Joe

  • @southerncrescent1401 The organist is mighty fine as well. Yes, I agree, Jack is brilliant and that Kurtzmann is awesome!! I played a Gulbransen(this model, I'm sure), back in the day. At the time I was very much a Conn fan and I still am to some degree. I've owned a Thomas and now have an Allen which I love. As good as the new organs are, there is still something very special about that 70s divider sound.

    Great Work guys.

  • When are you and Jack going to upload some new gospel playing music. You are great!

  • @tims63special I've got to help Jack move his Kurtzmann piano tomorrow in Knoxville. I will take my camera. However, after moving the piano and re-tuning it, we may not have any energy left. Especially me. When Jack comes to my place, we have been working on the Kurtzmann concert grand that I got in Feb. and don't get anything taped. I don't have much left to finish my piano and Jack is wanting to shoot some videos using the concert grand as soon as it is ready.

  • wow! i was very surprised to find this here! Jack is my cousin on my mother's side of the family! i had a chance to watch him play when i vacationed in knoxville last year! incredible!

  • After hearing you guys play this song just once, I was motivated to connect my computer through my stereo amplifier. You should hear yourselves through 14 speakers throughout the house. Absolutely terrific.

  • @daybird2 WOW!! 14 speakers! I thought my two 5" stereo speakers sounded good. I can try to imagine 14 speakers but I'm sure it sound better that what I can comprehend. Thanks for the encouraging words. I feel honored that you did that for our song. Thanks, Joe

  • wonderful. there is nothing like the sound of a piano and organ together, wish more churches today used them. you both play by ear don't you?

  • It is sad that you don't have both piano and organ in many of the churches now. I have been to some where they don't have any instruments. They play CD's of instrument tracts and have the words on a screen. Jack and myself can read music but play by ear after we learn the song. My music reading is extremely slow. Thanks for the comment.

  • WOW! I'm envious - would love to get my hands on that organ too! Played this song so many times back in rural KY on a Shantz pipe organ and a yamaha baby.

    Great job fellows!

  • Thanks for the compliment waadams! I should be the one envious though as there are no pipe organs for me to play in Spring City. Hopefully some day I will get to play one. The Gulbransen organ does have a good sound. It is now at a church in Knoxville TN. and I don't get up there very often to play it.

  • you guys sound great!!!

  • Jack and myself humbly appreciate all complements and encouragement that come our way.

  • amazing!! :)

  • Thanks for the complement

  • this is fantastic playing -i just love those

old gulbransen organs -sorry i ever sold mine !! -keep uploading and bring blessing

    thanks

  • What a pleasure it is to hear such music, what a gift it is to be able to play and make such music. Thank you very much indeed for posting it. I will see if I can find the banjo. Regards Bill

  • Thanks for the encouraging words Bill. I see you are in the U.K. I would like to go there sometime.

  • we want MORE songs!! ;-)

  • Thanks jimoaklandu for the comment. Jack and I usually get together on Saturdays. The next two Saturdays I will be pickin' banjo at a couple of festivals and want be able to record with the organ. I am practicing on other songs for us to post. Keep checking back.

  • Absolutely loved it. Thanks for posting.

  • Hi xk1hammond! Thanks for the comment. Jack and I are planning more songs to post.
