Have to really agree with your comments, losing weight is never easy but when someone finally does it feels so good, it is good you added this tag specially since most young girls, even young or older women are very self conscious to looks and weight. Everyone I know, big or small have their moments and no matter what shoe is on what foot it always hurts to be insulted for the way people look. Must say though, love the way you worded this video.

the model they showed on shane's vid...

is actually a known person and does not have that body as for her past pictures...

so there was an actual comparison that served as a basis for other people to post judgmental statements...

don't get me wrong, im not saying that what they did was right...

but you have to analyze or consider the whole video instead of just focusing on one aspect of it...

This was very honest and straight on. I agree with you almost 100%.

One thing though is that being slightly overweight doesn't make you unhealthy.

I am not obese but slightly over the "average" weight, and I am healthy. I know plenty of women and men larger than myself, all of whom are healthy. I am not promoting being overweight, but I wanted to say that you don't have to be underweight or overweight to be considered "unhealthy".

I agree with all of things that you said except one. It is and will always be about image. For example, if you have to chooes between sitting by 2 strangers -- the "fat" girl or the skinny, pretty one. You're going to choose the skinny, pretty one. I'm not saying everyone will, but you get my point. Being "hot and sexy" will sadly get you almost anywhere.. Almost.

You could have a skinny person and a bigger person, but the skinnier one might have lower self esteem. Just because someone is skinny does not mean they have confidence. It's not okay to call someone who is skinny things like anorexic or bulemic. It hurts them too. It's not okay to call someone fat either

I get what you are saying, but what you do not see it from the other view. If you are bigger you think that the models have it all. I mean look at you, bleach blone, smooth skin, nice teeth, and skinny. You get the guys. But if you are someone who is a little bigger you see yourself and want to be in someone like youselfs shoes and wtf, no boobs? You are defending the models because you are one, you have never been on the other side of the fence, you don't know what it's like.

@Keller1818 You missed the point, then. I have indeed been on the other side of the fence. If you had known me personally when I was younger, I got teased all the time. I wasn't the "pretty" one and no one would have ever guessed I'd become a model or anything that depended on physicality. I didn't grow into my looks until much much later and so my self-esteem was extremely low. Modeling is my personal way of feeling good about myself. Looks are temporary, though, it's personality that counts!

Agreed, I honestly would love to model one day xD I've just always wondered if your legs had to be skinny.. because I'm not fat. I'm actually underweight. But my thighs aren't as skinny as most models.

I think that you're so right. Shane is always trying to say to people that "skinny is bad" and saying that skinny people walks around hungry. They DONT!

I understand what you are saying and it is right he should have considered that. But i think when Shane made that video he was thinking about how the media are having a big influence on young girls. Although there are models like yourself who are perfectly normal as anyone can see watching this video, there are models like the one in the picture he showed who are extremely thin and cause Anorexia to young teenagers.

this is a good video and i agree with you but when you say overweight is unhealthy-its not unless they are eating unhealthy. my best friend is overweight by 10 pounds and she eats healthier than me and im skinny so dont assume overweight people are unhealthy either. that's just wrong.

Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, but what I meant everytime I said "overweight" was "over a healthy weight". If you're only a few lbs over your BMI, it's hardly considered unhealthy. I think you misunderstood. I was referring to where breathing becomes difficult as does moving around and other daily necessities. There are people bound to motorized chairs because of this epidemic and now there are even obese CHILDREN. Hopefully that cleared things up for you? =]
