Ironically... This isn't the "legendary" ending. I got the same one on Heroic. It's like the Halo 3 ending when you see Jon survived, except you ONLY see it if you wait through the credits.
Is odst worth the money? A lot of people say it's not worth it and it's the worst halo game of them all. Of course I don't think this because I haven't played it yet.
@MrElyosRanger It's not terrible but its not the best. It was a little short but interesting and the atmosphere and music was kick ass. As for gameplay...meh. It was alright. In short, its probably not worth the full retail. If you can find it cheap, go ahead and try it out. If not, I would save up for Reach.

@steviesmithrocks bungie cant take down the halo 3 servers because there are no "halo 3 servers" XBL doesnt work like PSN, the matchmaking servers will be there as long as XBL is supported on the 360. the only thing bungie servers do is keep track of all your additional stats (list of games, kills, etc) and they still keep most of that data from H2, so i think we are OK for that
that said, ive set a reminder on my phone to jump on H3 on the 25TH :)

The threat of the covenant was destroyed at the end of Halo 3, where the Arbiter killed the prophet guy and took control. I may be wrong, so if someone corrects me, Im okay with that.
@DavyDeckwalker mostly right. the arbiter kills the prophet with the help of master chief and the flood. (flood only decide to assist them for the death of the prophet then turn agaisnt them.) then, upon the death of the prophet, they activate the half recreated ring that was destroyed in halo 1 for a smaller but still extremely powerful blast that destroyed the ark which in turn, ended the war.

@tevinmon32 ODST ended before Halo 3 ended. It started in the middle of Halo 2. Ive only played ODST and Reach, but I have a fairly good grasp of the story. The threat of the covenant was destroyed at the end of Halo 3, where the Arbiter killed the prophet guy and took control. I may be wrong, so if someone corrects me, Im okay with that.

@DavyDeckwalker mostly right. the arbiter kills the prophet with the help of master chief and the flood. (flood only decide to assist them for the death of the prophet then turn agaisnt them.) then, upon the death of the prophet, they activate the half recreated ring that was destroyed in halo 1 for a smaller but still extremely powerful blast that destroyed the ark which in turn, ended the war.
