Just another reason to love the incredible talents of LADY TEE. I thought no one could ever touch this song like GWEN DICKEY of ROSE ROYCE until I heard TEENA MARIE sing it today 4/3/11. I just remembered seeing this particular episode's end credits back in the day wondering who was that !!!!!!! I must have had brain freeze back then !!!!! Anyway she made it her own and once again I'm blown away by her voice to tears. I will be getting "N.Y. Undercover Night At Natalie's" CD just for this.

Wow! The Rose Royce version was one of my all-time favorites and I never thought anybody could touch it. Teena Marie made it her own though and now all I hear is her singing it. So sad to hear of her passing. The songs she leaves behind, though, are as alive, fresh and moving as the first time I heard them. RIP, Lady Tee. Thank You for your music ... yours is the only voice that could move me so deeply.

I remember watching that episode of "New York Undercover" and she came on at the end of the credits singing this song. Omg. She sounded so good. To me she sounded just as good as Gwen Dickey who originally sung it with Rose Royce back in the day or better. Some clown on here said Beyonce's version sounded better than both of them. What an Amazing voice!!! This is MY Favorite Tina Marie song !!! She was a Talented Treasure, never receiving the fullest respect or platform for her many talents. My condolences go out to her family who have lost a very special person in their lives... the memories, love and respect for a talented, passionate & beautiful human being,whom we all will miss. Tina will be singing in Heaven with the Angels and GOD ... and leading the choir !!!

I grew up listening to Teena Marie! it amazed me that a white girl could sound like that! The week before Christmas I listened to album La Dona over and over again! Thinking about how sad that Rick James and Gerald Levert had passed. And now Teena!!!! This has left me heartbroken not to mention my birthday was the 26 of December!
