A bassist must play on his own technique man... That's the only thing that makes it lose its "too easy" stereotype. You gotta be less dependent on others (such as the guitarist) and come up with your own stuff. Tips (except for tips such as 4 finger fretting and a few basic techniques which will prevent you from injuries in the long run) will just have you thinking there's a certain right way to play. Don't listen to em. Every great bassist is great only because they have a signature style.

Learn some proper technique man, Fieldy, (while perfect for Korn and good at what he does) has some really poor technique don't idolize and copy people with poor technique, not saying its needed to make good music but it's there for a reason, you can really end up hurting yourself or develop arthritis early on. Besides unless your ambition in music is to be in a Korn cover band then I suggest you look at some bassists that come up with actual basslines Fieldy is more of a percussionist anyways.
