They had their first son Dakota when Leland was 18 adn there are picrutes about of him on his wedding day with Dakota as his page boy so im guessing he was about 20 - 21. He treated her bady in the sense that he didnt give a f@@k that he had a family and still acted like a single guy, out all the time, never home, never helped her etc. Even Leland has said it a few times on the show that he was no angel when he was younger.
