I just don't understand this car. 140hp and 0-60 is still like 10-11 seconds and they don't offer the nice versions with a manual. Plus electric power steering is gay. I do like the look of it tho

@subyrockz4 If you have to ask if a turbo would take the engine apart, the answer is "yes." :P

Any engine can be turboed. But there are a lot of factors that go into what size turbo it can handle and at what boost pressure, etc.

In general, adding a turbo to a non-turbo car is not the most practical or fiscally-sound idea. Generally much better to just buy a car that comes with one from the factory.

@WesSeid You need to remap, put in intercooler, change exhaust from manifoil to cat, bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump(maybe).

and maybe replace the whole exhaust, intake plenum and everything to make it fit.

You also need controll systems for the turbo to adjust the boost.

I wish it didn't have direct injection. It's not fun having to scrub intake valves. Gasoline does not flow past these valves to help remove build up like non GDI cars.

I just leased the lx model yesterday and It's a well made car, handles like a go cart, its quick, and feels twice as good as the 2012 sentra I almost got. Its made in Korea instead of Mexicans. The 6 gears and direct injection in my opinion are the selling points. This bitch is in high demand for a reason. It's the shit. I almost had a fuckin cvt which suckssss

I work at the kia dealership where I live and I bought one of the first manual transmission Rio 5s we got about a month ago. The car looks amazing and has features I never knew I needed! It's the perfect car for a buyer who wants a small car with a lot of attitude. Fun to drive too, 4 wheel disc brakes and 138 hp feels good on such a small car although most of the power is in the high RPM range.

did you notice that hollow "clunk" sound when the door is being shut...the design is fine but fit and finish just doesn't cut it for me especially at premium trim level. I really do want kia to do well but compared to honda and mazda for example the overall quality seems cheap. the interior is ladened with low end hard plastic and those leather seats looks cheap so cheap. Take a look at mazda3, the interior of the it's lowest trim is so much better and you can notice the difference right away.

Compared to the Mazda 3? The Kia is a subcompact and priced accordingly, the 3 is not. The Rio's direct competition is the Mazda 2. For the price premium a 3 would demand over a Rio, an Optima can be had over a 3, and depending on the trims, an Optima can even be had for the same price as a 3.

Also, most reviewers have praised its fit and finish.
