They don't make comedies like this anymore, the PC brigade wouldn't allow it with all the "taboo" subjects that are around nowadays, what people don't understand is the majority of subjects in classic comedies like this are not done in a offensive way. They are done in an educational way with an underlying message that is not always perceived
The message was simply this (as quoted from an interview with Warren Mitchell in London's Time Out magazine, back in the mid-80s):
He said: "People still come up to me on the street and go 'Alf, I loved the way you took the piss out of them bloody Pakis and Yids!' And I reply: 'The only people we took the piss out of was bigoted cunts like you' ."
Oh, that's.... argh, I can't remember his name! The janitor from Grace Brothers. I should know this, I saw all but a few episodes of that show years ago...
"All she had, what she could leave me was her pension and what she got for sittin' in that wheelchair- what she would've left me, I know she would've done, willingly, but she couldn't, could she?! BECAUSE THE BLOODY GOVERNMENT GRABBED IT BACK OFF HER!"- That's just typical of OUR bloody government! >:(

@MrJanesaddiction No the fact is the people of today wouldn't know humor if it came and slapped them in the face.
