I hope Newt Gingrich is the VP nominee in 2012. He's the prototypical VP for the future. People don't want a young guy with ambition but an experienced intelligent policy maker to help the pres.
And we'll get over this current obamanation folks, trust me. Conservatism will be back in style for a good long time once the teleprompter is sent back to his community
Understood, but I don't think it would have. Yeah, many people would have lost a lot of money... oh wait!
Anyway, #1 Reagan didn't do much when the 87 crisis occurred and we came out just fine.
#2 is the Repubs are the ones who created TARP, which is what bailed most out and stabilized the banks. Don't you remember when Bush stated Obama could use the remaining TARP as he saw fit when he was sworn in... proving Reps began TARP. NHot all Reps or DEMS agreed with it but Reps are responsible...
Federal Reserve policy, over-regulation, and the built-in network of inefficient social programs are to blame - not "republican economics", whatever that even means.
Okay I haven't really taken exeption to continuing to call Newt "Speaker" but lets drop the hypocrisy, hes not the Speaker of the House anymore. Its fine if when you first introduce him to make note that hes the former speaker of the house but by continuing to call him "Speaker" you're just reinforcing the hype that we now have a Political Aristocracy and thats something we need to get rid of if in fact there is one.
Mr. Gingrich is no longer a credible voice of conservatism. He has continuously put party before principles, throwing conservatism under the bus time and time again. Anyone who gives professional race baiter al "tawana" sharpton the time of day has no scruples.
Being ideologically pure ALL the time, gets you no where. I agree, Al Sharpton is a professional retard, but in order to get anything done you HAVE to gave and take in order to reach your final goal. Newt knows this.
When was the last time a dem gave anything? Were you awake the last election? Did you see how well that silliness worked out for Mclame? You nor newt get it. The GOP is the minority--and WILL remain the miniority--because most reps have been tax/spend liberals. Sittin on pelosi's couch, givin credence to racebaiting hate mongers, & supporting liberals against conservative candidates (like NY) gets you specters, snowes, and collins. See how fast that gets an agenda through. More silly season.
LOL, the founding father bust kind of looks like it's on his shoulder guiding his words---which are quite wise.

So far Obama hasn't done anything, right?
That's what everyone says, Obama hasn't accomplished anything.
So why is our economy screwed up?
You can't blame Obama if he hasn't done anything. So that only leaves one explanation as to why the economy is screwed up.
Republican economics! Not Conservative principles, republican economics.

Yea, you're right. Reps have acknowledged that. They made mistakes but it doesn't even par with what the Dems are trying for.

Maybe, but I sure would hate to see what things would look like if we had let everything fail, like the GOP wanted.
The Auto industry alone would've had a devastating ripple effect. The Banks,OMG!

Fed policy kept inflation low, and low interest credit kept consumer demand afloat.
Would you care to elaborate as to how Gramm,Leach, Bliley(1999) deregulation act DIDN't cause the financial sector mess?
Republican economics=Massive Tax cuts causing massive disparity of wealth, Deregulation(i.e. GLB as mentioned above)causing massive corporate corruption and monopolies,
Anti-Labor causing stagnant wages and negative savings
Massive deficit spending causing devaluation of the dollar.
