Nice, I've never seen a translated version of this song! This was probably my favorite Japanese worship song I learned while serving on missions in Japan last summer, so I'm thankful to have found this! :) Great arrangement as well. May you continue to be an encouragement to the all who desire to reach the Japanese for Christ!
Hey max, this is awesome! I was at Frenda for teen camp 1 this past year (2011) and I really miss singing this song. If you get around to it, could you please send me the chords for guitar? Whenever you can get around to it would be great! Thanks!
@MetalCrusade777 Indeed. I got the opportunity to spend a month in Japan last summer. We spent two weeks in Kesennuma doing tsunami relief with Samaritans purse. The week before and after that we were at a church in Yokohama. The youth group there sang this song all the time! I'm currently learning the Japanese lyrics. I have the chorus down but the verses are difficult.
Would I be able to use these lyrics and possibly even perform this song with a praise band at my university?
It's a wonderful song. I really like it. however, the last word "God bless Japan" is translated wrong. It supposed to be 神の恵みが日本に(ありますように)Otherwise it is fine. God bless Japan is for me a little awkward perhaps too strong. I would use May God bless Japan. You are not demanding God for His blessing are YOU?
Thank you. As a missionary currently in Japan, the past few days have been incredibly difficult. We were close to the epicenter but received no lasting damage and we didn't lose anybody. However, seeing the disaster around us, feeling the aftershocks, and watching the situation growing more grim for Japan has been heartbreaking. Thank you for this encouraging video. It helps.
@thevintagerose I'm glad you were blessed by it. I am continuing to pray for Japan and for all the missionaries stationed there. I know a handful of people through OMF, so I have been hearing news as it has been coming since Friday. Continue to be brave! I know the situation is rough, but God's hand is still at work and Jesus is still your great Saviour!
@MetalCrusade777 "God's hand is still at work" What exactly do you mean by that? You relish giving god credit for saving lives when a disaster strikes. But who do you deem responsible caused the disaster? If the god entity you believe in is is omnipotent why would this god allow such a tragedy in the first place.
Perhaps it's because there is no god and things like this happen naturally. That makes much far more sense.
@socksumi He has His own reason for everything that He allowed to happen. There are many things that we can't fathom. This disaster might be something bad but I believe something good will come out of this. If a disaster could make people wake up & come back to Him again or could change some things that were happening in Japan, why not? Not that I'm saying God would do anything just so people would know that He is God, but again, He has His own reasons & at the end it'd be all for our own good.
@h499052 There no reason to belief that a god(s) exists or is responsible. And I certainly would not use a primitive book of mythology (bible or Koran) as any kind of guide to knowledge. Disasters like this happen randomly and naturally. We live on a cooling planet of shifting tectonic plates---and shit happens. No plan or intent is involved and no gods are responsible. I do not have enough contempt for the human species to believe this is somehow for our own good.
@socksumi The bible isn't a book of mythology but a book filled with God's words & promises. You don't read it just to get knowledge because thats not the main purpose. The bible is to reveal God to mankind & get us to come to God through Jesus so we can know Him.
Yes of course natural disasters happen, but who created the earth? & who allowed the earth to be like this? It was God.
& I want to tell you that I don't say all these to start an argument, but I just want you to understand the truth.
@h499052 "The bible is a book filled with God's words & promises". You know this how? The bible consists of stories and claims for the supernatural that contradict science and defy reason. It's teachings are (in part) morally repugnant, misogynistic, homophobic and bigoted---the god depicted in the OT is a genocidal and cruel psychopath.
To anyone who examines the bible critically and thoughtfully, it's most definitely not the word of an advanced being but of primitive iron age savages.
@socksumi I know it because I've experienced it. "Ask & you shall receive", is one of God's promise to everyone of us including you. Many things I've asked, & He gave. But if He gives me what I want all the time, I wouldn't be thankful for the lil things that I have, like a spoiled child. The bible is historically proven. Maybe you'd say it contradicts science, but honestly, science doesn't explain everything. Have you never experienced miracles that God've placed in your life?
@h499052 If the bible were historically proven then belief would no longer require faith. If evidence for biblical claims existed then Christianity would be deemed factual by science and history. Any course in advanced studies will tell you this is not so. Unlike science, Christianity explains nothing, it simply asserts and proclaims. The sources you use to structure your belief are not reliable for they are grounded in emotion, bias and faith, not reason---just as they are with every religion.
@socksumi -cont- The teachings aren't morally repugant, misogynistic, homophobic & bigoted. Have you ever read it before? Why are you so sure? God created us. I'm a girl. Though I agree that perhaps some girls would feel inferior compared to the boys when reading the bible but thats not it. God created us girls in His image & He loved us. God is not homophobic but He dislikes homosexuals bcos He DIDN'T create them that way. He created them in His image & He gave us the freewill to choose & feel.
@h499052 I was raised in a Christian community and so am quite familiar with it's doctrines. Have YOU read your bible? It's a bloodbath of barbarism, of atrocities committed and commanded by "god" that include slavery, rape, plagues, genocide, infanticide, butchering of entire tribes, spearing pregnant bellies, dashing infants.
I am offended by a belief system that demands of it's followers gullibility and slavish obedience--and threatens eternal torture for non-believers and skeptics.
@socksumi You ARE familiar, but you've never experienced it, how would you know? WHY are you so sure? YES I've read my bible. Though I'm not good in answering questions about the bible, but I do know who my God is.
Christianity is NOT merely a "belief system", but a rather a relationship between mankind & God.
I've mentioned in my previous reply. GOD GAVE US FREEWILL. I had & still have the choice to choose to believe Him. He didn't force me by threatening me with eternal tortures. I CHOSE Him.
@h499052 What you call experience is in fact delusion and wishful thinking. A "relationship with god" is a recent cultist concept used by evangelists in order to evade the responsibility of having to demonstrate the credibility of their faith.
Christianity is but a fear based control system designed cripple critical thinking and stifle skepticism. If we removed childhood indoctrination and the hell threat from Christianity, I predict it's demise to a fringe belief in two generations.
@socksumi con't, The real irony here is the Christian praying for Japan when Japanese people are among the most atheistic on earth. Japan is also one of the among most advanced, civilized and cooperative nations so it surprises me not a bit that less than 1% are Christian.
An interesting fact is: among the Japanese (usually the youth) that missionaries manage to convert, a large number of them de-convert after a while---embarrassed and apologizing for letting themselves be duped.
@watashihayouko God bless you! I am for sure going to continue to pray for Japan. Thank you for watching, I hope it was a blessing. So far my family and friends are doing ok too, so praise be to God!
