yeah tis a pity, I like the look of the jza's, but they're just so heavy. then again r33 arent much better. would go a r32/31 myself. 2jz's are a good tough motor, but rb's are just as good(if not better)- got a mate that's been running 18psi on stock internals(rb20) for a couple years now. it seems to love it. also rb's are dirt cheap in aus compared to the j motors, and if you wanna 3 litre motor it's still cheaper to do a rb25/30

@metalrulespopisshit You're right. Supras aren't all that. BUT, their engine (2jzgte) is. Its very robust and responds well to mods. Supras are a good platform for tuning and drag strip, not so much on a track (heavy, solid rear axel). Still an iconic car even today.
Skylines are similar in the respect that their engine (rb26de) is a great tuning platform, but has a better chassis and a great AWD system well suited for track use.

I go to a few races here in Texas (not much now since my fieros getting work done) and I see FWD cars pull so hard on RWD cars. I'd rather a supra everyday! Lack of traction is a fun thing, and I'm fairly sure they'd be faster than a Godzilla if they were 4wd. I've owned jz powered cars in the past and they were a far better platform and more reliable to play with than my mates playing with silly rb20's and rb25's!

Forgive me, but Supra just looks business, just like Zees. Skylines look like people carriers with steroids. The new GTR have something, don't know what, but still "there's to must going on" with its look. Its an overkill from Nissan. You can tune an RS Skoda or Ford - or your favorite abbreviations combined with your favorite vendor - to peek at 500bhp, but still it will look like one.

yeah tis a pity, I like the look of the jza's, but they're just so heavy. then again r33 arent much better. would go a r32/31 myself. 2jz's are a good tough motor, but rb's are just as good(if not better)- got a mate that's been running 18psi on stock internals(rb20) for a couple years now. it seems to love it. also rb's are dirt cheap in aus compared to the j motors, and if you wanna 3 litre motor it's still cheaper to do a rb25/30

Supra was gaining pretty fast. Given the extra weight and rwd, it does alright.
In my opinion, the GTR is a more superior car than the Supra, and the 2JZGTE is a more superior motor than the RB26DETT. Put a 2J and an RB26 in to 2 of the same car, and the 2J will eat it :p

stock for stock, Skylines rape Supras. Supras are heavier (most weigh 3485).
The Skyline R33 weighs 3373. The Skyline R34 weighs 3395 and pushes about the same power stock as the fat-ass Supra
mod for mod, Skylines rape Supras. Supras are overrated dyno queens that need antilag, drags, and other extra shit just to put the power down, that the Skyline doesn't need.
And once again, Supras weigh more.

and an rb26's internals can handle around 550 hp, about the same as the Supra (550 also, not 600 like everyone says).

@metalrulespopisshit You're right. Supras aren't all that. BUT, their engine (2jzgte) is. Its very robust and responds well to mods. Supras are a good platform for tuning and drag strip, not so much on a track (heavy, solid rear axel). Still an iconic car even today.
Skylines are similar in the respect that their engine (rb26de) is a great tuning platform, but has a better chassis and a great AWD system well suited for track use.
Give me a choice? SKYLINE

I go to a few races here in Texas (not much now since my fieros getting work done) and I see FWD cars pull so hard on RWD cars. There's an Acura TL? that goes up there and can walk this zr1 that shows up on this street, simply because he can launch WAY better on a street setup.
But yeah, at a 20-30mph highway roll (aka wiener race), the vett wins...

Unrestricted ones, as sold outside of japan (sold in UK, Australia, Middle East, etc.)
had 319 HP and did 12.9 stock.

i doubt the 2jz is that much stronger than the rb26. rb2 is pretty damn strong. 2jz does handle just a little bit more power but is also heavier, and the Supra itself is heavier (3485) than the Skyline (3373- R33, 3395- R34), so that saps up a good amount of the extra power.

I'd rather a supra everyday! Lack of traction is a fun thing, and I'm fairly sure they'd be faster than a Godzilla if they were 4wd. I've owned jz powered cars in the past and they were a far better platform and more reliable to play with than my mates playing with silly rb20's and rb25's!

Forgive me, but Supra just looks business, just like Zees. Skylines look like people carriers with steroids. The new GTR have something, don't know what, but still "there's to must going on" with its look. Its an overkill from Nissan. You can tune an RS Skoda or Ford - or your favorite abbreviations combined with your favorite vendor - to peek at 500bhp, but still it will look like one.
