Ok. I have never owned or used an electric shaver. When it comes to shaving, I'm old school and use Gilette Fusion/Schick quattro w/ Edge gel. Trying to decide which is THE best to use and start with. Price isn't an option and I've narrowed the selection to 2; Braun Pulsonic 9595 or the Norelco Arcitec 1090x. Anyone out there have a preference which is better; this type of shaver head or a triple rotary head? Good informative vid and thanks for posting.
Pretty good & honest review. Thanks! Too bad image quality is blurry, but content makes up for it.
To get a closer shave, I suggest the "pinch & lift" technique on your skin, just ahead of the shaver head. It exposes whiskers better & I get a close shave ~2 hours shy of a bladed shave. The Philips Norelco shavers inherently lift the whiskers for cutting, but they tend to cause skin irritation more than Braun. Braun is best in my book! :-)
Do you think this would be a big improvement from my Philishave Speed XL? I absolutely hate the Speed XL, so i want to move away from the philips brand, but will this provide a better shave?
Dry only, meaning you can't take it with you in a shower. A moist face is probably best. This new model is water resistant, so you can rinse the heads under running water, which means a wet face can be shaven with it, but I don't know if it works better or worse that way. There are some pretty good pre-shave lotions available for electric shavers that can help make the shaving experience more pleasant if you have sensitive skin.
The head on this new model is capable of being cleaned under running water, so shaving on a wet face shouldn't be a problem. Just don't take the shaver into the shower with you--the body is not fully water resistant.
I would recommend shaving with a moist face, though. Totally wet might cause "whisker mulch" that might be a bit messy on your face. If you are looking for a less irritating shave, use a lotion for electric pre-shave. I use Afta and it works very well.
100% agree with this review. I have this shaver and would rate it the same. I'm used to a razor and i do get a better shave with that. This does come in handy for time though.
Congrats on an excellent review! Would have been nice to see it in the cleaner, though.
I also hate to burst your bubble though, because the Panasonic Vortex 8109 is a better shaver for half the price... I recommend it without reservation. It handles the neck/jaw regions better.
I had a braun that last me for 8 years; in which I just changed the blades and foil just once.... these shavers are realy good, and last for very long time; now I am using a remington 3 heads shaver, very good as well and the last I had before this model I own today last me 7 1/2 years; just keep in mind that for a good electric shave always scrub your face from time to time and use a pre-electric lotion so the shaver will glade on your face without burn it or couse redness
Very good review, Glad to see thatyou are still using it. Wet shave myself, but wanted something to clean the bristles up later on in the day. Sounds like what I want. Cheers
Hey, so you got it from Ebay huh? I'm currently bidding on a Pulsonic too. It's a 9585 model. How do you like the shaver so far? Would you still recommend it? Let me know~
the shaver is pretty good. i have been using it for a fair while now and does the job resonably well. Still possible issues with the corners of your neck but on the whole if you use it every day or every second day then it will be no problem. enjoy :-)
thank you so much! i was contemplating buying it for my boyfriend for christmas- i think i made my decision. he has fairly fine straight growth on his face so it should work well.
Yeah, depends on your technique.... i usually manually shave with the grain then after that go against the grain and I find it makes a super smooth shave and lasts me a couple days at least :-) thanks 4 watching....
Thanks. Trying to decide on the new Norelco, Panasonic and Braun Pulsonic. With the new pulse Braun is still mega loud. I do like the cleaning option of water & soap rinsing for travel. Hopefully you can keep it plugged in without damaging the battery like in the 360 model.
Hey dude, It only cut me because i had a pimple there, so unfortunatley i didnt make that quite clear, but its generally a good shaver for travelling or general use.
Thanks mate, I endorse the shaver, pretty good generally.... good luck!
If your beard/stubble is thick you will need to trim it first so it will take a while. but if you use it every day or every second day it is not to bad at all! Thanks 4 watching! Cheers

Good review, but the close ups were useless. A better cam would have fixed that I guess.
It came across as an honest review which could be relied upon. He obviously wasn't trying to flog it to us.
Can these things be used wet and dry ?

Yeah, nice one. I was thinking about getting one too, how convienient!
You may have been doing down strokes more than up strokes so that maybe why it took a couple passes?
never beats a standard razer though but are great if you dont wanna use water and stan]nd in a bathroom shaving!
Thanks
