  • Body Roll, Body Roll, Body Roll, some more Body Roll.

  • its not even a fair comparison. the shelby has a super charger. throw a super charger on the challenger and it will blow the doors off that mustang.

  • see video: 12.1@113 2011 Challenger SRT

  • i have smiled for no REASON ..

  • they didn't even race wtf!

  • cant make up your mind?......just buy both

  • The challenger is a musclecar supreme.I'll take one in blue with an auto.

  • 2:44 Mustang SS and Camaro GT?? noo boy

  • Now lets toss a Camaro ZL1 in there. :)

  • i want the mustang

  • So where's the comparison? I thought I saw "vs" in the title.

  • so which is better?

  • @AfrikaaBombeetza Mustang

  • @Blackmamba1997 yep and I am a ford guy looks like somebody screwed up the exhaust big time

  • At least the challenger looks cool. I would not buy a mustang, because in my opinion it looks rather ugly. Also I don't really trust anything made by ford. To risky of an investment.

  • @PowerSpartanl99 I know that is your opinion, but personally, I think the new Mustang looks pretty sexy. Now, if you're talking about models before 2005 and after 1970, then I agree.

  • @BawssWuzHere Yeah, the new model is pretty damn cool. But I love the classic design of the Challenger.

  • Personally I love the Dodge Challenger, but on the roads in Colombia, we do not have the pleasure of seeing these beautiful cars frequently. Unfortunately, the tax makes the price is double what they cost in your country of origin. In addition, the purchasing power of Colombia is not high, as income per capita. Gasoline is more expensive than in the United States, even. For now, we will comply with them in videos that fans of these cars posted on Youtube. Thanks for those pictures.

  • my dad owned a 392 for 3 months until he threw a supercharger in it and it really makes you wonder why race a mod car vs a stock engine car its clear a mod car will win but when there is two mod cars the game changes dodge hemi is legend and im a huge chrysler ford and gm fan but a 1968 charger will beat a new charger and challenger stock

  • I dont get this test, it makes no sense. What do the two cars have to do with each other?

One is a factory offering, the other is a aftermarket company offering, and they really aren't in the same speed/power/handling class at all (mustang would embarrass the challenger in every way).

Why not compare say the 392 to the Boss 302? That seems like more of a fair matchup.

  • @testy462 it is the way to know the best of the best car bro

  • i want them both :'(

  • No 1/4 mile times???

  • What kind of drivers are these? Cause those launches are terrible.

  • dude i didnt realize this was the 350. imagine the gt500 faster bigger engine and even more amazing. alwell im gonna get the boss 302 444hp is enought for me

  • @xBloodfatherx yeah this car is still nice even though its a 350, then theres, the 500, cobra, supersnake, roush versions, my buddy has an 04 mach 1 which are pretty rare

  • @Bongwater123 really yeah i didnt know there was an 04 mach 1 thats awesome though

  • @xBloodfatherx theres also the mustang tjaarda, its also rare

  • @Bongwater123 i looked it up on google images it looks amazing i've never seen them

  • This is just a pointless comparison obviously, a tuner car is always gonna be more expensive than a production car.

  • These cars put the world on notice: AMERICAN MUSCLE IS BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER! THESE MONSTERS ARE WELL BUILT WITH A FACTORY BACKED WARRANTY WITH PERFORMANCE THAT CAN COMPETE WITH THE BEST FROM EUROPE AND THE ORIENT! {dj from chicago, usa}

  • For 47K the Challenger rocks....88K for a Shelby kit car Mustang that looks like every other ghetto'd Mustang? Not.

  • @SOFSoldier1: 88k? I prefer the 48k 550HP GT500 from Ford. Which is a much better deal than the Challenger obviously.

  • @V8Supercar1 I'd prefer to have a backseat and be able to carry passengers

  • @SOFSoldier1: The GT500 has a back seat.

  • @V8Supercar1 I might a backseat that adults can actually sit in

  • WHAT HAPPENED TO THE EXHAUST TIPS IN 2:12

    u guys broke it D:

  • can i have both?

  • are you listening to this ..Jeremy Clarkson ??

  • @flash5516

Yeah...TRY TO BE COMPLETELY UNENTHUSIASTIC AND READ BADLY WRITTEN LINES BY AN OLD JEW TRYING TO SOUND WITTY.

  • want that challenger :(

  • Looks like I went on porntube.com again

  • lol i love where it says speed limit 35

  • look at the exhaust on the gt at 2:13 , maybe step up the quality a little bit.

  • @1stgengsx i figured i was tha only 1 who seen that

  • hahaha hell yeah 2:00 there listening to George Carlin

  • I think the Challenger is much better then the Mustang. The Challenger has that Hemi built into it, while the Mustang has that Shelby power in it.

  • R&T lets see the GT350 vs ZL1 apples 2 apples

392 rocks even thou its sill slower

  • american muscle cars are the sexiest, especially the 70's muscle

  • @clos19851 Never driven a Pro Touring car obviously.

    :-)

  • ewwwww pushrods

  • waiting for my 392....I WANT MY HEMI!

  • Crooked exhaust at 2:10.

  • That isn't a fair comparison. Compare it to a Dodge Viper and lets see the results.

  • @13612

Apples to apples, the 5.0L GT and the 6.4L Challenger have very similar 1/4 mile and 0-60 times. Better yet, the only thing that would determine which is the faster of the two is the driver.

  • @phattacorider perhaps................but this ford had super charger added, its not even remotely the same it was before..........how is it the same GT that you refer to after having added something to take it beyond stock?

  • @13612

Oh I never said this is the same GT as before. You simply put that this comparison should be apples to apples, and in my example of the regular 5.0L GT was to give you the apples to apples comparison. But check this out. There are "apples to apples" in this comparison. Both have similar power (even with the blower), RWD, coupe, and cost quite a bit. The supercharger, in fact, makes it fair EXCEPT the Challenger is far heavier, which makes it unfair.

  • @phattacorider That's what I've always contested, if only the Ford/Chevy/Dodge could put a vehicle on the market with similar curb weights and displacements, then it would be apple to apple, but with so many variables......its truly hard to say which is better....put the Mopar powertrain in the GT and see the difference or vice versa, that would truly be the apples to apples......maybe someone would try this.....motor/tranny swaps and see who truly put the beast into their car.

  • @13612

But if things such as weight and displacement are relatively equal amongst today's modern muscle, then it would be difficult to determine which is truly better. Also, there will always be aspects ti differentiate which is better. Look at the 392 and the 5.0L. The 392 has much more power, yet weighs much more, making their performance figures very similar. What makes the 5.0L better, in this case, is being over $10k less.

  • @13612

I dunno, I guess I think it's a good idea that the big 3 mix things up, not make their cars similar. It gives the public and muscle/sports car enthusiasts and hobbyists much more variety, more to pick and choose from, and their very own option in making their own car "better" and more unique. While GM and Chrystler build big motors and heavy cars, Ford goes with the alternative, lighter car and smaller motor with great power. Hell it's all about having fun, not being better.

  • @phattacorider go and google what that Shelby option will cost and come back..

And then talk about apples to apples..........33K on top of the base vehicle price to get to where the Shelby 350 is......no thanks, thats just insane money, go after a viper or vette.......no different really and much more of a head turner any day of the week. Just sayin' apples to apples, this is not.

  • @13612

I was referring to the base GT 5.0L Mustang, not the GT350. I'm well aware that option is expensive, I think I read somewhere about $20k on top of the GT price. But where I was getting at was the cost of the 5.0L GT Mustang vs the 392 SRT8 Challenger. While their performance figures are quite similar, the 5.0L GT Mustang is over $10k less. Apples to apples in performance, but not in cost. None of today's muscle cars will be similar, dollar for dollar.

  • 'course maybe then the ford would look kinds sad?

  • REALLY Road & Track???? A $70K Supercharged Stang vs a $40K N/A Challenger??? Give me the Challenger and $15K and I'll feed you all Horsemeat with it!!!

What, are you guys scared to bring a Speed Factory 392 to the party? THAT woulda been fair...and a hellova lot more interesting!

  • @neumann57 You could equally do much more to a stock 2011+ Mustang GT (Now $29,995) than is done for this kit if you do it yourself, and you'd have more leftover money than the Challenger. :) And with a Mustang, weight is less of an issue.

  • @solodude23 Such is true, nonetheless the disparity in the choice of equipment is pathetic. Even the pricetag is severely skewed in a particular direction. Actually, a 2012 Challenger RT is $29K as well....same as the GT. My blown Challenger isn't that quick off the line or in the turns, but a damn BULLET from a rollin start!

  • @neumann57 From what I've read, for the last year that they are going to produce the Challenger (2013 model), Mopar is going to come out with a supercharger option with an Eaton supercharger.

  • Don't understand this test. Factory car vs modified car. Why didn't they test factory ford? Or maybe modified challenger then. Could have found a turbo or supercharged challenger. Then both would have been apples. . .

  • @69dodgeman69 Couldn't agree more!

  • @69dodgeman69 I'm a Ford guy and I'd have to agree (to a point), but Dodge doesn't really have any stock/semi-factory cars to compete with the Boss 302, GT350, or the GT500. They just have the SRT8 392, which is pretty much the competition for the 2011+ Mustang GT.

  • It looks like the Shelby muffler about to fall off! @ 2:14

  • The Dodge Challenger is the baddest looking AMERICAN car out there, it screams MUSCLE! Im a FORD guy all the way, The shelby gt250 is straight up nasty! 5.0l whipple blown beast, runs 12 flat 1/4 mile, thats better that the gt500, SHELBY did something right with this beast for sure

  • Put a audi s4 twin turbo stage3 it will smoke these two cars

  • A real American Muscle car shouldn't have a supercharger or a turbo.

  • @fluboy3434 if they want to be the fastest they should have 1, this isnt the 50's. 60's, 70s, turbos and blowers are a lot more common now then they were back then, a "MUSCLE" car with a turbo or blower is still a "MUSCLE" car,

  • With the price difference you could upgrade the challenger to beat the mustang

  • who's out in front at the end?(;

  • His voice is very similar to ( saabkyle04 ) !! :/ :/

  • @shuckarelli I dont disagree entirely, buying a RT and SCing it ultimately might be a better idea than the 45K+ it takes for the SRT8. But the RT + SC is basically same cost as 5.0 + SC. However the 5.0 has better performance starting out the gate and it costs the same as a RT. And while the bigger engine may see more output from the upgrades, you still have a heavier vehicle. And weight is such an important factor in speed/times

  • at 2:15 is the left exhaust pipe of the gt350 hanging lower than the right?

  • @MRTWINTURBO88 Yes I saw that too. That car is expensive , I would think they could get the exhaust tips at equal heights. I wonder if they could have tested the 392 against a Gt Mustang.

  • an 88K kit-car Mustang? For real?

  • @SOFSoldier1 Go away...

  • Your paying for the exclusivity and brand name with the shelby i agree its overpriced but its still an awesome car

  • i like the bundy mobile,,, half the price dont hurt as well lol

  • Both are American ;)

  • The Challenger weighs too much.

  • iight I'm tired of watching videos of these... someone buy me one please!!!!

  • @afgandominator the challenger is stock where as the mustang with the gt350 package is not

  • @BOOMusniped that's true, but if you bring out the 2012 Ford Mustang Boss Laguna Seca Edition, well, that challenger is still going to get its butt kicked.

  • @thunderbirdlver You're still here? And you think I really care about my youtube channel? Sorry sorry little man...

  • @afgandominator The mustang was originally marked to women early on in its career. How does that make you feel?

  • @thunderbirdlver Aaaaand you failed at reading comprehension yet again. lol...I weep for our children's future.

  • @afgandominator the reason the GT350 out performs the Challenger 392 is because it has more modifications then the challenger. Upgrade the suspension and put a twin turbo on it and i'm sure the story would be different.

  • WTF? This video was about Mustang and Challenger, who cares about Bugatti and GTR? On the other hand I'm a Ford guy all the way, but have always liked Challengers ( well the 1970 Challenger).

  • No one wants that pregnant blue whale.

  • @Trenaur Forgive me, but Im almost certain that comparing includes contrasting... And if they aren't alike, then I'd say they both weren't/aren't; v8s, retro styled, aren't modified versions and unique of the oems versions, don't aim for the same/similar markets, don't make higher levels of power, don't get some visual touch ups, dont cost more, FRs, made to better perform on the track, etc

  • The Challenger may be slower but it looks WAY better than the mustang.

  • AMERICAN MUSCLE BABY!!!

  • ROFL, lets compare an N/A V8 car to a blown V8 that's been aftermarket tuned, maybe their next "vs." line up will be a geo metro vs. Hennessy Viper

  • @Xmanthesexman 6.4 vs 4.6 L ....I don't blame Ford for adding an s/c

  • @MrNickster500 its a 5.0 not 4.6 that motor is gone bro

  • @SOFSoldier1 Lol, are you a soldier? If you are do me a favor, get hit by an IED.

  • @SOFSoldier1 Lol, I don't mind at all smoking any SRT8 in a cammed/nitrous mustang deemed a "chic-mobile". It's quite funny, hell i'll even throw in one of those ruffley flower looking things over the rear-view mirror and go for a cruise. Hahahahahaha.

  • I drive the SRT8's at work alot....I would rather have the any SRT8 over any mustang.

  • That GT350 is a real mistake. Less powerful than a GT500? And more expensive?

  • @Buttnut105 Some sites Ive read actually say the GT350 its faster than the GT500, at least for 2011...I'd probably still stick with the GT500 though, especially if it can be had for less.

  • @Punisher7121 I wouldn't have either. Muscle cars were created to be relatively affordable, very fun, and very fast. I'll save myself 20k and go for a GT. Then, once the warranty's up on that, throw in a vortech supercharger, borla S type exhaust, and maybe some Baer brakes. Then you have a comfortable sleeper that can outpace almost any car you'd encounter on the road.

  • @Buttnut105 I share the same mindset...I have a 2011 GT, and am thinking of putting a SC or turbo (seems to do more on the top end) in a few years once the warranty is about up. But there is a small part of me that thinks I'll just trade up to a Vette or GT500 in a few years...

  • @Punisher7121 I would prefer to have a Mustang custom and specific to me, as long as it works properly of course though. That said, Vettes are fun and I would possibly trade up to one too. However, I'd pass on the GT500. The GT is 95% of the car for 20k less and a vortech centrifugal blower would not only sound better because of the lack of supercharger whine, but 530 wheel hp is more than the shelby's, even though it only costs 5k.

  • @Buttnut105 True...I think its the fact that its a Cobra that would entice me a little. But Im thinking there is a reason some articles I've read say the GT350 is faster than the GT500, because the 5.0 being SC'd in the GT350 is a better engine than the 5.4 in the GT500. More than likely my next car down the road will be a Vette or the new GT for that year

  • @Punisher7121 Oh I'm sure the GT350 is a better car than the GT500. I'm fairly certain because the GT350 is done by Shelby themselves (despite using a lot of Ford Racing parts) and the 500 is done by SVT.

  • @Buttnut105 I see some people post that they think SVT does it better than Shelby (I have no opinion), I just figured the 5.0 in the GT is a better base engine than the 5.4 in the Cobra...

  • @Punisher7121 Yeah I agree. Much lighter and livelier.

  • @Buttnut105 the gt500 is also built by shelby buddy, along with Ford's Special Vehicle Team.(SVT).

  • @Buttnut105 The gt350 is more powerful than the gt500, is lighter, and handles at a rating above 1g. It also cost around 60K - 70K depending on what options you selected. It isn't a mistake, as a matter of fact, hot rod magazine tested the car, and they mentioned that it might even be faster than the super snake around the track since it handles better. With that said, the name gt350 has no reference to power.

  • @man36021 It's a mistake because it is more powerful than the GT500 and it costs more. Why? The GT500 was always at the top and the GT350 bridged the gap between the GT and the 500. My point is it should not be more powerful than the 500 nor should it cost more.

  • @Buttnut105 The gt350 pretty much outperforms the gt500 in every way, now something els you should realsise is that the gt500 is a ford production vehicle, while the gt350 is a package completely made by shelby american. With that, you're gonna have differences in marketing, and in names.

  • @man36021 Are you gonna tell me next that 2+2=4? I know all this already. I just think a GT350, better or not, should not be more expensive (and less powerful) than the top-tier GT500. I honestly think they're both wastes of money but, I made my opinion and that's that.

  • @Buttnut105 Once again different companies, but whatever think what you want.

  • @man36021 Well both are Shelby's it's just one is more Shelby than the other, even though both are upgraded with Ford Racing parts. My original point, and clearly this isn't registering with you, is that the GT350 (one and then two rungs under the 500 in the 60's) not only costs more than the GT500, but is less powerful and that doesn't make sense.

  • @Buttnut105 Actually, though shelby did give design ques for the gt500, pretty much all credit goes to svt, which is ford's special vehicles team. I see your point, but hopefully you can see mine too.

  • @Buttnut105 it is way better looking though and a lot more rare

  • @Buttnut105 , But but better cornering performance, also prefer the GT500

  • @speednick88 its all about what you like.

  • Mustang Dodge sucks

  • @challenger470hp Challenger is made better? Can Dodge make a transmission that lasts more than 50,000 miles yet?

  • @thunderbirdlver Have you ever test drove a challenger and mustang in the same day? The challengers interior is way better, its driving is better, its suspension is better, and its way safer when are you going to go over 100, maybe on the freeway in the early morning

  • @challenger470hp Totally agreed.

  • @rumblebeast08 thank you at least some one knows what their talking about

  • @challenger470hp How when the Mustang pulled more G's on the skid pad? It also beat a BMW M3 on Laguna Seca. Obviously the Mustangs suspension is better dude.

  • @thunderbirdlver just what a loser

  • @challenger470hp Whatever boner

  • @thunderbirdlver sorry dude geese i was just trying to say that the challenger is a pretty good car remember you commented first

  • @thunderbirdlver You utterly missed the point of my comment, and previous comments.

  • where are the numbers? 0-60mph? 100mph-0? g's? did anyone else notice George Carlin on the radio in the challenger?

  • You explain it yourself. The "392" won't exaclty be destroyed, just beaten in either race.

  • U sound like saabkyle04

  • that such an unfair race the challenger has only 470hp and the mustang has 520 hp now if you race an challenger srt8 super bee that's a different story

  • Factory upgrades are such a scam.

  • that challenger was drifting and still kept up with that 350. that 350 has a custom racing package and still sucks

  • Is this the Mustang with the Chinese-built transmission? So all the Challenger has to do is keep pushing the Mustang until its transmission gives out!

  • I canceled my order for my GT, when I heard that the trainee is built in china..

  • Uh...an $85,000 Mustang is 'The Logical Choice'?

  • @fusilikevin Logical if you 4 and are still writing stuff in Crayon....hence why my 392 comes next month....lol

  • @SOFSoldier1 or you could buy the new GTR nissan made for a total of like 125k that does 0-60 in 2.6seconds it is just as fast as the bugatti

  • @AwesomeBMX and 0-60 is everything? It depends on what you are looking for. I tend to like Japanese cars better, but dammit, sometimes a liter car with a big 8 is a load of fun. For my money a new Skyline is a total joke. The R32 was the king and always will be but I'd buy an old Supra and mod it. Take your 0-60 figure and lose every day to my motorcycle, btw.

  • @AwesomeBMX Does not go just as fast as the Bugatti, may accelerate faster in the 1/4 mile. But speed wise, I don't see it going in the Bugatti range.

  • @turbomonkey36 It wouldn't even outdo the Bugatti in the quartermile. Bugatti has a 0-60 time of 2.5 seconds, which is a lot quicker than any muscle car there is right now.

  • @organizedConfoosion A GTR for "125k" would definitely beat a Bugatti in the 1/4 mile. The person who states that is most likely refering to the AMS modifications that'll put the GTR in the 10s and 9s. Chevrrolet made a few Vettes in 69 (just 3 i think) tracked a 10.9 with a special packaged ZL1 aluminum motor (7L) and heads or something with slicks. Prolly got below 3 sec 0-60 to run 10s. No slicks I think was 12.1. Think I read this in an old Motor Trend/Car and Driver.

  • @turbomonkey36 It's already been proven that the GTR doesn't win in the quarter mile against the Bugatti, there's a video of it around here somewhere. As much as I love the GTR (it's my dream car), there's no way the GTR will win unless its the AMS Alpha 12. The Bugatti has a faster 0-100 time (by a few seconds if I'm not mistaken), and it eventually just pulls away from the GTR. Too much of a horsepower difference for the GTR to even compete :\

  • @organizedConfoosion You said it yourself, the AMS GTR. I don't mean a stock GTR, I know that for a fact, my boss has one modified. Ran 10.7 quickest and its an 09. Why do you keep saying the GTR doesn't win in the quarter mile against the Bugatti? I know a stock GTR will match or be beaten by the Bugatti. I'm referring to AwesomeBMX's claim of a 125k GTR that can be made and is just as fast a Bugatti. A GTR does not cost 125k base, it would mean that it must be...

  • @turbomonkey36 ...modified, and the most recent and popular 125k "made" GTR is the AMS Alpha 12, so I assumed he was referring to that one, or any Supra or vette or whatever that can be bought for cheap and modified to a total cost of 125k to beat a Bugatti in the 1/4 and maybe a small ways more. Not too many people would go too much pass that anyway, so majority would be satisfied. I agree with AwesomeBMX, but not with speed. SO that means you and I agree on one same thing....

  • @turbomonkey36 ....the Bugati will still beat a GTR as speed increases in a race, like 150 or 180 or even higher as long as performance doesn't exceed the AMS Alpha 12.

  • Mustang has never been a muscle car... Mustangs are light weight, making them Pony cars.

  • @Trenaur What's the point of watching if you don't like the cars?

  • @thunderbirdlver You fail at reading comprehension. I said that this comparison is fail and has been my point all along. Nothing I said has to do with me not liking the cars.

  • Buy a Supra TT and turbo charge it to 1200 HP like a sensible person for under 30K.

  • @TheTardis157 under 30k is doubtful for 1200 hp

  • @TheTardis157 Haha, under 30k?? You're kidding right? The car in good shape plus that build?? Must know a good set of people and/or have quite some good skillz lol.

  • Excuse me...89K now for the GT350 build complete

  • would`nt mind having either in my garage, or preferably both.

  • 99 Haters because they don't own one

  • @SOFSoldier1 There's this whole, superior-performance thing that people are into nowadays, I don't get it either. What, just because it's easily the best pony car made, people feel the need to pay large amounts of money for it? Like, why would there be so many Mustangs out there? I mean other than the fact that they're far superior to anything comparable from Chevy and Dodge, that is. It's a mystery to me.

  • @SOFSoldier1 The same people that would spend that much on a camaro or challenger...They're out there.

  • @OldboySaint They're both muscle cars so theres nothing wrong with this comparison. The gt350 is like $40k more than than any factory muscle car from dodge or chevy so if we are comparing strictly based on price wtf are we supposed to compare the gt350 to? The acr is a sports car so your comparing apples to oranges.

  • @xflynskywlkr23 Umm, you compare it to a different modded muscle car? This isn't rocket science here...

  • @xflynskywlkr23 This isn't a factory car. You have to take it to Shelby to get the modifications. It's just the same as people dropping a supercharger 440 motor into the Challenger and upgrading suspension and stuff.

  • the pipes sitting angled at 2:16 ... lawlz

  • Dodge is the king of plastic. You'll be lucky to get 30,000 miles out of that transmission. And I've driven a challenger v8 bone stock it felt like grandpas Lincoln town car
