So while it was going down the line, my hand nicked on the cable and it came out partially. I'm not sure if this bugged it or what but it started looping at 6/13 saying "Verifying" and "Dumping" forever. So I turned off the iPod 3g (iOS v4.1) and did the whole process again and it looped at the same spot. I moved to a different computer and it still looped at Devicetree 6/13. I ran out of options now, anyone knows what can be done? My iPod is working fine, I just need to SHSH.

try using tiny umbrella or re install the program and then save your shsh blob again. hope my advice helps you.

@coolBoy7ification I fixed the problem long ago. I just restored the ipod to factory settings then ran iFaith again. Surprisingly the battery seems to be lasting longer than IOS 4. I guess the battery drain is for the iPhone users. Unfortunately my IOS 4 winterboard themes don't look so good on IOS 5. Some elements are missing.

Are you connected to the internet and is device in DFU mode?? I believe you need an internet connection for this to work. I had similar issue.

I'd like to be able to restore to stock 4.2.1 if needed...I have saved 4.2.1 blobs with iFaith, and created IPSW with them. I can't seem to find a video showing an actual restore with it. So stupid I tried to do this on my old 3Gs and it said 'device not compatible'. Now when I try to restore it wants to update to 4.3.4 which has no jailbreak !! Thank god I didn't do this to my iPhone 4

@ReFreShFX It has instructions right there lol. Like getting into dfu mode(thats the most complicated part of the whole thing and even that's easy). Everything else is done automatically like saving the shsh. It only saves the shsh of the fw you're currently on tho.

alright well i dont have my shsh for 4.1, i downgraded in itunes i got error 1004 i believe then i used redsn0w and used the option "just boot tethered now" it kicked it out of recovery mode and it booted up fine but its tethered..every time i run ifaith to save the blobs for 4.1 it stops working once its past "apple logo". what im trying to do is save my shsh properly so i can upgrade back to 4.2.1 then back down to 4.1 and have a untethered jailbreak with limera1n

hey quick question..I'm running 4.2.1 on ipod touch 3G, MC model, and I'm trying to update to the latest version of ios, but everytime I click on update, itunes tells me that I'm running the current firmware, and I've also tried manually downloading the 4.3.1 firmware and installing it with shift+click restore, but it doesn't work, it simply tells me the same thing. Is it because I've jailbroke it in the past without saving my SHSH blobs or what? oh and I can't jailbreak it either..what do i do?

@zero1125 @EverythingApplePro Incorrect. An SHSH is a secure signature hash. Apple only allows you to restore to the firmwares they 'sign'. This 'signing' only lasts for a limited time. Once they stop 'signing' the SHSHs for a firmware, there is no way to restore that firmware ever again. That us why you save your SHSH blobs so that TinyUmbrella or iFaith can sign the firmware for you using the SHSH.
