@barabile the c-9 is not touched in basic training, if you enlist as an infantry solider you will be taught to use it along with the c-6 m203 and a few others

Looking back on it no. There are hard moments, but you only remember the good times. Just stick with it and listen to your instructors and you'll be fine.

SQ is harder than BMQ but it's a lot more fun. This weekend is my last weekend of SQ. It goes by a lot faster than basic.

What trade are you going into?

I signed up for armored but i got told at my local unit that it is a long shot, i put infantry as my second so likely infantry.

Infantry is a good trade. Over half of my course is going Infantry (I'm Armored)

Just remember: no matter how hard it gets, don't quit. There were guys who quit by the second weekend and they missed out on a lot of fun stuff.

They're useful for protecting your knees during section attacks. You'll be out in the field and it usually doesn't matter what you use in the field as long as it keeps you comfortable. I know several guys on my SQ used them and the staff were fine with it.

In basic training they gave us old webbing because this is a reserve training course, and they didnt want to give a bunch of expensive gear, like Tac-Vests to people that might drop out of the course. We all got our tac vests after we finished our course.

your bias opinion doesnt fuckin matter, for me res is just a stepping stone for regs, im putting in for transfer to strat in sept, my reason for reserves was highschool got in my way, and why not get a litle experience before goin regs?, gotta start somewhere last time i checked.. and a reservist from my unit was recently killed in afghanistan, show some respect for reservists... reservist, or reg force, both are over seas with the same fucking goal.
