I have a 1970 Chevelle Convertible and I bought this exact engine 502 deluxe with Hooker Headers and the March Performance 21250 Accessory system. Just a quick question:
We installed engine but space is tight for the headers. What did you have to do to work in the headers? Could you send pictures of Engine Mounts & Frame mounts - did you have to cut frame or alter engine compartment? Need help or suggestions? hali011676@yahoo.com or pictures. Thank you for this video extremely helpful.
hey thanks for the video love the build.I noticed that you have the march PERFORMANCE kit with the 5 3/4 crank pully and the 6 1/4 water pump pully do you have any overheating problems ??? what size belts are you running and what brand ? thanks for your help in advance
@tandjz I will call the guy that owns the car, but I believe the belt is a Dayco and I know he has no overheating issues. This car is frequently driven long distances and in heavy traffic!
Cam is original to engine ordered, we only swapped intake and water pump. He has commented on how much the car wants to run away in 2nd and 3rd gear. (He's afraid of it I think!)
thats what i like to hear . Yeah i have a 85 monte carlo im gonna drop that same engine into and i was going to do a vortech supercharger but the power your saying it has i might not need it i just love alot of power. what type transmisson would you recommend i want a manual
If manual, I would use something pretty strong, like a Tremec, or Doug Nashand I would consider a 5 or 6 speed if you do any long distance driving. You will also want to beef up the rear. The torque this monster puts out will without doubt snap your stock axles and ring gear. yoy may want to upgrade the driveshaft as well. This engine plays hard. If you play hard with it, it will break your toys!
@malibumaninmd Tremec TKO600 5SPD or Tremec T56 6SPD the Viper Spec would work fine, or the T56 Magnum which is stronger than the Viper Spec. Good luck, nice toy.
