I've only gotten the good ending once, when I was very, very bored as a kid. I spent pretty much the whole afternoon trying to get them all, I beat the game 3 times before I finally did it. Looking back on it now, I remember the part at the end where Sonic looked up once he had all the emeralds, but I had forgotten about the up-close shot of him posing in mid-air. Robotnik stomping on the "The End" text though? Oh yes... I remember that. Hehe =D

So, I haven't been able to pass this stage on the XBOX 360 for months and after I reached the bouncy part I met Dr. Robotnik. I defeated him and got the "bad ending" since I had no emeralds! I was confused because I didn't realize I was so far in the game. I had to check online to see if that was really it or the game made you skip somehow. What sucked was the game's memory always saved my lives as just one left so whenever I loaded my game that's all I had. I guess I'll be starting over!!!

Eggman was always his name from the very first game in japan. The localization changed it and made up "Ivo Robotnik". it all came to a head in Adventure, where they used both interchangeably, and established one as the name, and the other as the alias/nickname

Why do the Japanese enjoy things in 7 and yellow colours for Super? E.g. Sonic, 7 Chaos Emeralds, Yellow Super Sonic. Dragonball Z, 7 Dragonballs, Yellow hair for Super Saiyan. ...weird.

It's the ending you get when you don't have all the Time Stones. When you have all the time Stones, it shows Little Planet flying off and disappearing leaving a sparkle thing in the shape of Sonic's head.

I actually tried getting all the emeralds through the level select, and went straight to the boss. didn't work. and getting rings was a pain. a single level didnt really have a lot of rings, and even if i could catch all the rings after getting hit that deidnt really make up for it.

NTSC/J runs at 60hz, PAL at 50hz.
