Escapism is the true function of religion. A word game in which we make up stories that inform our opinions of th unknown and unknowable. To try and project ourselves into a realm of imagination where everything is good in order to motivate us into specific actions to try and maintain an illusion of order and control. We need to recognize reality and let it be the ultimate authority in our decision making process, not ignorance and fear.

Yet, every day, people credit God for surviving disasters and getting well after a disease. God can heal and save - what about those billions of children?
