  • ...belt straps, some instruments and a lot of shit under chair....

  • bad camera man.... bad camera man...

  • seen lower, but still cool

  • Dang it man hold the camera still.

  • id like to see some of you hold a camera when it suddenly weighs 5.8 what it normally does....cheers for the upload man. I dream of being in your position one day!

  • I'd give right AND left nut....

  • He can't hold the camera because it weighs 5.8 times more than usual.

  • my grandfather fly the p51 in australia.... i love lookin at the pics

  • Retard on the camera.....plan ahead next time.

  • This looks like it was filmed at Santa Barbara airport! Can anyone confirm?

  • I got the chance of a lifetime to ride in one of these awesome machines.

  • I would love to take a ride yooo hooo so beautiful

  • I have never seem a biplace P-51....

  • at first i was wondering why negative ratings were a lot but when you putted down the camera just on the best moment you give me an envy to kill you

  • That's defnitely SBA. My office is over to the right side of this runway, and I've seen several P-51s doing low passes over the runway just like this. Quite the thrill watching these beauties do a flyby, even on the ground. I always imagine the banter with the Tower and the controllers begging for another one.... I know I would be!

  • @chismog You lucky bastard!.

I did 20 plus in the Australian Air Force, I had a ball!.

I was in an office at an Australian Air Force 'non-flying' base, located high up (about 2.300 ft) in the Blue Mountains, east of Sydney, state of New South Wales. One crystal clear blue sky afternoon, I glanced out my window, just in time to see a C130H Hercules charging down the throat of the three mile valley, BELOW my office window.

    BALLS!.

One day I'm sitting at my desk, bored shitless

  • man how did you get that gig?

  • Sure looks like OSH (oshkosh WI airport)

  • @jrossi9250 its not

  • A double-seated P51?

  • @Lusth0g Several P-51's have been modified with the addition of a back seat,. A small 'jump' seat, it's cramped, but the discomfort goes away about one nano second after the first blade passes in front of you on start up. Fortunately, been there done that a few times, compliments of Warbirds of America, Chino, CA. Yeeeeeeehaw!

  • @WerkinMojo Thats a YIIIHAAAW from me too man ;-) Thanx for the information dude,

  • @WerkinMojo

    Lucky shit!.

    'Done that a few times?.

    Lucky, very bloody lucky shit!

    I am completely jealous!.

    What's it like?......

    Come back.

  • @twinstu50 Back in the day (when avgas wasn't so expensive) and I belonged to the Professional Race Pilots Association (PRPA), guys like Clay Lacy and Bob Hoover and a few others with P-51's would let members strap in for short hops in the SoCal area. I'm EAA now and only fly LSA's - lost my medical in '06. If you ever get to the West Coast - Check out Dan Martin's "Ridge Runner III" in Hollister, CA - rides can be arranged...

  • I call this a PILF

Plane I'd Like to Fly :)

  • @yurihammo ROFL..thumbs up for originality

  • @yurihammo LMAO...good one!!!! Thumbs up.

  • a 2 seater p51?

  • @leakystarfish Some were trainers. Some modified after the war to joyriders.

  • Land at that speed? I don't think so. LOL

  • Ha, that's priceless...I wondered where the heck your camera went...until I read the description. Very cool!

  • Lucky dude to get the opportunity to ride shotgun in a P-51

  • I would give _everything_ for this : D

  • Dude, no one would have been able to hold the camera when he pulls the mustang! Hope you enjoyed that trip ;)

  • sweeeeet

  • ;D

    ;)

    Yihaaaaaaa

  • whats that yellow lever for

  • Flap Handle

  • lucky fellow. nice plane.

  • I liked it. There are not many warbird videos taken from inside.

  • Yeah what a wuss. Cant hold a camera straight at 6g's. Ever felt G-force Ivan?

  • Amazing how peaceful the engine sound from the inside compared to the roaring, howling Merlin from the outside... Great footage, THANKS!!!

  • is this at EAA? and guys he may have been (if he wasn't exaggerating) pulling 5 to 8 G's. thats like holding a 30 pound camera when your arm weighs 100 pounds

  • Looked like Oshkosh maybe

  • Santa Barbara, CA and 5.8 Gs on the meter

  • i wana c how close u are not the damn seat ffs... u ruined the vid =( 2/5

  • i don't even know what to say about this video. For all we know u did land. You totally messed filming this up so badly! It is embarassing, can you try harder next time for those of us who'd love to fly in this legend but don't get the chance!

  • I didn't know there were 2 seat mustangs

  • 2 seat Mustangs were when civilians (collectors, the like) took origonal 1 seaters and modified them. They were never in the war as far as I know.

  • the version with 2 seats is the TF-51

    and was a trainer...

  • Comment removed

  • i think they made some custom 2 seaters so they could give people rides lol

  • @iainet mmmmhmm, keep hold of a camera while suddenly being exposed to an unexpected 5.8Gs

  • @iainet good luck holding the camera at 5.8G (unexpected) pull.

  • @iainet try holding the camera on a "bumpy" day with moderate "chop" (turbulance) and then suddenly pulling almost 6 Gs in a pull up (people start to black out at 7.5 Gs). So stop your stupid bitching- you're just jealous you aren't the sitting were the camera man is!

  • i want a P-51D

  • rather have a sea fury

  • You don't want one-they are always broken. My hangar mate had one-always working on it-he used to bitch at me cause all I ever did was put gas in my jet warbird- went just as fast-fraction of the cost and headaches--but the mustangs are cool for sure-pretty- . I'd want mine an Enforcer with the turbine-they made sense but mustang purists hate them

  • I read the video title and thought it meant low pass on the Mustang car. I know that sounds retarded. But think about it, Mustang on Mustang action? Awesome.

  • the mustang can go almost 400mph at low level, i think it might be a one sided race.

  • Yes, but this won't stop many drivers from trying. (The ones that didn't get out of the way)

  • Hey, that's Santa Barbara, Ca. airport...... runway 25...............how about doing a low pass from runway 33R and l slow right turn over my house......i would love it!

  • Epic wrong.

  • I got to do this at Chino, California. Nice!

  • If your going to film something cool.... hold the damn camera still!

  • its kind hard when in a P-51 Mustang... ever tried flying one??

  • I wish!!!

  • There is fuck all hard about pointing a camera out of the window, he managed it at the start, the rest is looking at the twats feet or the floor! What a waste :(

  • well if u consider the fact that he might have never flown before then it would be kinda hard to hold up a camera pulling almost 6 gs

  • There is no fuckin WAY they are puling 6G's!

  • read the description 5.8G's

  • And how can you tell they didn't. If they pulled up and had an accelerometer to measure it that could very well be true. You pull 4 g's in a normal loop and that would be less dramatic than going to vertical right away.

  • 6 G's in a P51 Mustang? No problem at all!

  • I've sat in the back of a p-51 and did my best to hold my camera up. At time it felt like it weight 200lbs. Other times it was impossible and stayed in my lap. I for one enjoyed the heck out of this video clip because I've experienced it first hand and remember the rush!

  • looks like SO much fun

  • How come the pilot is sitting in the front and the observer in the back?

  • kamasutra

  • Wow, what did they put in your Tim Hortons Double-Double for you to come up with such idiocy? Go get your toonie back. Jeez...

  • cos the p51 used to have a huge radio on the back of the seat, they removed it and made room for an extra seat.

  • no, there was a fuel tank there. Said fuel tank also made plane unstable when it was full.

  • it was removed after the b/c model

  • mmmm, sexy

  • i would give my house up for one of those. That plane is by far the most buetiful one ever designed.

  • one of the most beautiful planes ever made

  • id give a left nut just to fly this plane for 10 mins.

  • LOOOOOOL

  • me too

  • me too

    I'd give both for 15

  • If they accept that as payment: How much fly time would i get for a kidney, half my liver, a lung and a leg?

  • i think they just might let you sit in the plane for that deal

  • But i would be worth it!

  • got that right!

  • @drummer987 Unfortunately, not much market for your nut.

  • @drummer987 id give both and my girlfriend

  • @drummer987 You can ride in a real P-51 at the Planes of Fame museum in Chino, CA. Be warned, this is not cheap!

  • @flunkn70 Hence, why he offered his left testicle

  • loool the yeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Ultimately a very fine aircraft after retrofit. German design. Once that engine had been replace with the Spitfire Merlin Rolls Royce we had something. Prior to that, not as good according to RAF tests during the war.

  • yeah. The "B" models look like crap too... I like the "D" and its bubble canopy.

  • THE B'S LOOK LIKE CRAP???

i dont think so! its the other way around...

The B's are better because the have a better roll rate and they're more streamlined!

But i dont wanna start anything so i respect your opinion!

  • heh, no offense taken, I just think that the bubble canopy on it looks WAY better.

  • Allright no problem I never disrespect my fellow aviators!

  • Haha! You almost dropped the camera. SURPRISE!

  • probably pissed himself, too...

  • This is the best fighter plane in WW2 !!

  • no it wasn't, maybe the best generally speaking but not in performance or even armement

  • Thanks for the ride. :)

  • no straight up from the runway tarmac 0 degreses verticle, hang it on its prop, kick the rudder and spin it around falling on its tail, and level out a couple of feet off the runway going in the reverse direction. gimme that stick, if you won't do it, I will! you big pussy!

  • [reply to cobrachoppergirl]

I have to admit, you would make a bad pilot, you may know how the airplane might respond, but you know nothing about the beauty or physics of an airplane, not to mention a fighter pilot, if you did what you said, you would stall out and probably die

  • Well, she's just a video game player, not a real pilot...

  • Actually cobrachoppergirl multimillion dollar warbirds are not flown like that for some very good reasons. And fighters in combat are never flown like that for another very good reason, being that an aircraft hanging on its prop is almost stationary in the air, an absolute sitting duck. So I guess you don't know as much as you like to pretend you do, with your blow arse comments.

  • She's not a real pilot

  • The Doppler effect totally makes the Mustang Merlin engine sound. With no Doppler effect of the plane approaching and flying away as can be heard from the ground, the Merlin powered Mustang is just another internal combustion engine as far as sound aesthetics go. It sounds better from the ground than from inside the cockpit, by far!

  • Yeah, but you can't do barrel rolls, loops, and pull 5+ G's on the ground! I'd much rather be at the stick!

  • lucky you

  • Nice shoes!

  • Is that from Planes of Fame in Chino?

  • We were strafed by P-51s in France. Terrifying. A nice big hedgerow saved us.

  • friendly Fire?

  • yeah I guess it was friendly fire...or just a bloke whjo think its cool to tell such stories...I think the guy believes in computergames

  • His channel says he's 82. But we all know how accurate those can be.

  • They sound even better from inside. Best fly of my life.

  • hmm i thought they sound better when they chase you lol....one of the most beautiful airplanes EVER....i would give anything to own one...

  • If you ever get the chance to go flying in one you will think you died and went to heaven. I will never forget the awsome power and g's doing stunts. Have you ever been to an F1 race and heard the cars? My ears rang for 2 days. Mustangs and Ferrari's are both bitchen. :)

  • I suppose that wonderful sound of a Merlin engine passing and flying off into the distance is somewhat lost from inside the aircraft when the sound remains constant.

  • I'd trade the sound from outside with the view from inside...

  • Nope. Camera 'work' doesn't.

  • he couldnt hold the camera! :D

    how cool is that xD

    teh mustang r0x!

  • hold the camera still you tool!

  • HES PULLING 8-10 G's STFU YOU IDIOT.

  • how can a mustang pull 10gs?

  • Who's the idiot? 10 g's HA that's a good one! They probably didn't even know 10 g's was possible in 1940's... Dumbass.

  • Mustangs pulled 6 G's max. I believe. It's what pilots who flew them in combat say.

  • [response to GeneralKenobiSIYE]

You'd be wrong, my great uncle flew the '51 during the war and pulled 10 G's easy in a split S (on the plane, but not on him)

  • no he didn't, he's lying

  • On the plane, but not on him?

The Gs on the plane are on him just as well.

And ten Gs are almost impossible to pull on a P-51. It's structural limit was +8/-4.

I suppose you could pull +10, with enough speed, but...

The Sukhois take that routinely, although not sustained. Only modern jet fighters (F-16,F-18, etc...) can do that-and not for long.

  • bit late now, dickhead

  • Is the pilot Michel Dorn?. ( Worf from Star Trek TNG)I seem to remember he owned a mustang!

  • He was on modern marvels other night about corporate jets he has a nice one.

  • Thats great, I've wondered what it must be like looking out from the inside of a P-51 Mustang canopy during flight and now I know, thanks.

  • I got the chance to ride in a Mustang way back in '77,the plane has since been destroyed in a fatal crash.

  • what mustang is that?

  • That was cool. I bet it would have been even cooler if he really put the coals to it.

  • yeah, i've pulled about 6 g's in a mustang doing a loop, and i can tell you camera position is the least of your concerns :)

  • great vid Where was that? kinda looks like Olympia WA?

  • Santa Barbara, CA

  • get a better camera guy... it coulda been a good vid.

  • it was looking good until the camara man fainted

  • HAHAHA that was funny, fainted

  • Hey dude! Great video! Could not get your camera up due to G-force after tight pull up?

  • exactly !

  • Wau..
