I've had shingles a good 25+ times since 1997 and they always break out on my nose. I'm sick of it. Why not get the vaccine???

If you come down with shingles, be sure to treat it with antiviral meds ASAP! I had it on my face and in my eye, and even with Famvir and steriods, I have scars on my cornea and skin. But, because I got treatment right away, I have no post herpetic neuralgia (horrible, life-long pain).

I am debating getting the vaccine, because it can come back, in the same place! I don't want it again; it was very painful and I was really sick with it.

hey guys on DEC 25 i got a shingles and i been having them for about 4 days now and tell u this the first stage of the POX is a walk in the park.....the seconed stage well lets say this it hurts,itches and burns not including the pain i am getting with it. so for ppl that had the POX plz go take this anti to pervent this happening it to u. btw shingles is rare( also u dont have to be old to get them i am 21 and i have them.

I'm 26 and I'm having my first flare up now :( it took them a week to diagnose it after three visits because it is at an unconventional place (my right side head/neck) so it's been dormant at my C2 nerve...it hurtsssss

@twamking1 Hope youre shingles clear up.... I had them for about a month and a half and let me tell you. it was the most excruciating pain Ive ever felt in my life. Im only 20 years old but still, It prevented me from sleeping and the nerve pains were so unbearable I couldnt take it... I really hope youre shingles dont cause you as much pain as mine did me... On the bright side, some people only get a rash and have no pain symtoms.... I hope this is the case for you.... HOPE U GET BETTER

I recognized the first out break on my husband and sent him to the Clinic right away.Doctor said it was wonderful that he came in within a week of the first sign and gave him a Post Perpetic Drug to take that would minimize the pain if it returned.The outbreak went no further.

If you don't get chicken pox, you can get shingles which is much worse. When children were not vaccinated so much, they got chicken pox which is not serious. Due to vaccinations, shingles is more likely to attack. All vaccines contain many poisons. You should not get 'the shot'. It just makes the pharma companies rich.

thats great news!!!!! where can i get this vaccine? I had shingles a few years ago but every once in a while i get the irritating tingling under thes kin on the left side and it drives me crazy. if anyone knows how i can get this vaccine, pls let m know. do i just go to the ER at he hospital?

theres also a new pill valecevoir i think it is u may have to doublecheck the spelling but that pill works the best no side efects and if u combine that with lotions its all good iwas over it in about 3 weeks seems typical for everyone

i have shingles been there over 3 weeks so far.

When i first got them mum thought it was intedigustion because my upper chest on the left was hurting like hell, then within a couple of days the actul rashes/spots started to show, it started to itch extremely bad at one point but the pain was nasty, ive had 3 weeks off work and luckyly it was the easter holidays so i didnt have to go to college, the doctor recomended stayin away from people as well, aged people new born babys pregnant women etc.

My doctor prescribed benedril he thought I had an allergic reaction to something, so did I but after taking benedril it all went away.

Anyone can get shingles, even people that have never had chicken pox. I have found that conventional treatments are next to useless.

Im 15 and I have shingles.. or they say I do... We wen't to get the prescription for the pain and the pharmacy couldn't figure out what to give me cuz Im 15... I haven't slept for the past 2 nights and I can only imagine its going to last awhile... oh ya! I heard its contagious to people who haven't had chicken pox, so warn your friends.

I went through my three weeks of shingles with NO PAIN

The worst it ever felt was like a bad sunburn before I went to the Dr. and found out what it was From that time I used fresh Alo Vera plant several times a day and wore my silk PJs and all was good!

Use the lowest branches of the plant as they are the oldest and contain the most medicine.

I've had Postherpetic Neuralgia for almost 4 years now. I have scars starting in the back on my left side all the way around to my navel but the pain is in my left side, the same place it started. I'm taking 4500 mgs/day of Lyrica and Methadone 5 times/day. Lortab for breakthru pain and Ambien for sleep. I've lost my marriage of 21 years, my full-time job of 18 years, part-time job of 3 years, my Insurance and almost my sanity...so don't feel like you're all alone!

My break out started 6 days ago. Brought on by stress. The doctors at the hospital seemed to be very aware of the symptoms severity. The medications are working but they told me they wont cure it, only ease the symptoms. Something I've tried and does help is icepacks on the back at the source of the neuralgia. Still it only eases the discomfort.
