Damn I knoooow people don't know shit about dragnet by the amount of comments. All you people above and below are awesome and know your shit.!!! Rock on bitches!!
That was the thing about Jack Webb. He really wanted to show all the aspects of the cop's job no matter how unsavory or untasteful the subject matter. I was watching the episode "The Big Girl" and I heard the word pregnant several times. But remember when Lucy got pregnant? they made her say expecting
There wasn't a great deal of violence in the show because Webb always focused on the more routine methods of dectective work. Knocking on doors and talking to people. So you could listen to the soundtrack from the TV show and still know what was going on. Not much difference than the radio version

It amazes me they did an episode on this back in the 50's, of all times.

@mytvmemories My recollection is that the show went out of its way to make people aware of child abuse.

@gigantor21 definitely a wild subject for television in the fifties.especially with the note of the child's dress found in the hedges.

I had a hard time watching this one because I previously heard it on XM's Radio Classics.
Dragnet was and still is a spellbinding show.
