And your bladder definitely is full when you get up in the morning. So should I wait until after I urinate in the morning and then test the next time but before I eat?

Ketosis is perfectly harmless and a natural part of a healthy low-carb, high-fat diet. You can burn body fat while building muscle mass eating a ketogenic diet. Read THE TNT DIET by Dr. Jeff Volek and Adam Campbell for more info on this. In the absence of carbohydrate in the diet, your body replenishes glycogen stores through a process called gluconeogenesis where glucose is produced through the liver from the protein you eat. the only way i have registered in the dark purple is when i take the test after i eat other then that its always a step down from that in the mornings... thanks for the video.. i was starting to stress about it too after reading tons of stuff in forums lol

You would think that, but it's just not true. Ketone bodies are either present or not. There isn't "greater" fat-burning from MORE ketone bodies. I appreciate the response, though. :)

I gave up because I was following a low carb diet and felt that I had to go even lower in carbs to achieve the results to get me in the purple zone! Needless to say, I became bored with the diet and completely gave up. Now I know that any change means I am burning fat! Thanks for the heads up on this!
Which makes my point exactly! You probably use all of your ketone bodies for fuel, so you don't show any on the strips. That's okay as long as you are keeping your carbohydrate intake reduced.
