it was wonderful to watch F1 when you knew that a car could overtake annother without KERS or DRS. the rules should go back as in 2002 but with no traction control
@carlostamezz the commentator is Martin Brundle, dont tell him to shut up... he fucking drove an f1 car before against the best including fucking Schumi and fucking Senna... hes the greatest fucking commentator along with fucking Murray Walker... he'd fuck you up before you have the chance to fucking get to the fucking ragged edge of retardation...
@drascalov i rather hear the engine than your boyfriend...( i guess thats why you stand up for him) so fuck off. i made my comment, i don´t know you and i dont give a fuck who you are...´and i can´t care less about you and your little fucking pathetic life... go blow your boyfriend.. you piece of shit.
@ericsson2521 Yeah, you are absolutely right. Even in 2009 when engines were limited to 18000 rpm the cars could reach 350 km/h. Maybe the speeds are slower now because of blown diffusers and problems with pirelli
@ericsson2521 In the 80's, the 1.6 L renault V6 produced 700 to 800 bhp, but in qualification, the engine produced 1.200 bhp. Today, F1 cars have better aerodynamics, so even with a smaller engine but a good turbo, F1 cars would fly in 2014.
@ericsson2521 They HAVE to slow the cars, if they didn't the drivers would be wearing pressure suits and pulling 9 gees around corners, deadly accidents would be common and team budgets would be in the billions.
I dont like the way the commenator speaks. Sounds like Gargamel of the Smurfs. Instead Lobato from Spain is an adorable guy whom does not irritate the audience.
anybody realize how in f1 2010 a person at monza has to break at the 200 mark leading into the first corner/chicane yet ruben's is able to break here so much later!
@ZealotX3 You mean you can do a 1.25 laptime in a video game? Wow. I bet Barrichello could beat that time in the same video game, and you couldn't even get one lap done in a real F1 car.
@ms95100 I'd be surprised, the V8 engines and 18,000rpm rev limit seems to have knocked 20km/h or so off of the top speed.
Also the teams will have to consider their gear ratios - if they make them too long they may be fast in qualifying but they will be sitting ducks in the race without the DRS available to them.
@turke47 Well quali was done with race fuel so it is. The 'real' lap record was set by Montoya in the same year but wasn't counted as it wasn't for grid position. He got a 1:19.525.
I don't think monza lap record will be do again a day , in 2005 with these very hard tyres for qualifing and race it was impossible , now with v8 engine and limitation of rpms to 18000 , the formula one are less fast , but 230 mph it was probably too fast and dangerous.
@SerialKIillerrr if you listen to it, clearly the commentator is impressed with the driver and he's using sarcasm and being hyped up to describe just how all out the driver is going.
@alaskanthunder in Britain formula 1 is a major sport, unlike in the USA where it isn't as big. We're very passionate about it and our commentaries tend to be very involved and lively.
@lukezapper none of those cars you named can take a corner at 150 miles an hour, pull you at 5g's, and stay on the ground. Of course if a car is boasting over 1000 horsepower or 16 cylinders or uses everything it's got in 1/4 of a mile is gonna be faster in a straight line. I think he's just talking about f1 lol
@MegaShaun999 erm noo mclaren f1 240mph, bugatti 252mph, aero tt 256mph, there no were near faster and if you are on about saying this is a fast motor sport watch NHRA drag racing OMG! top fule dragsters go from 0-110mph in under 1 second and in quater of a mile they do 3.7s and reach 330mph :O
@lukezapper Would like to see a Veyron or dragster lap Suzuka in a sub 1:40 lap. Also, the Veyron Supersport does 267mph, and the V10 BAR Honda from 2005 did 251mph with the rear wing removed and with a high speed set up.
The session before this one Juan Pablo Montoya completed a lap in 1m19.525s (an average speed of 162.949 mph) which remains the fastest lap ever recorded in an F1 car anywhere.
On another note, this isn't really an official lap record since they can only be set in a race (not something I agree with). Even if that wasn't the case, Montoya's lap would be the record.
@hwkabro What year was that? Schumacher's 2003 pole was slower than this, so it cant have been in 2003. I dont know the qualy set up in 2004, but I presume there was a pre-qualy session or something with no race fuel? That would explain the sub 1:20 lap...
@MetaKnightsKirby It was 2004, in practice before qualifying. I was actually referencing the qualifying in this video when I said in my comment "The session before this one".
@MetaKnightsKirby Fair enough. Yeah that lap will take some beating, especially since it's the fastest ever recorded anywhere in the whole of motorsport history across all tracks :D
