  • @lonnie727 well said! One of my favorite times at SDC is during the southern gospel picnic;)...also love the Christmas time there

  • I been going to SDC for my whole life.

  • love the park never dissapoints you

  • aww that was great and your promoting the park. thanks cus i work there.

  • @coreybelles you do? What do you do? I just went there maybe I saw you.

  • @coreybelles I love how at Silver dollar city they arent afraid to tell about the Nativity, etc. Like the christmas train ride when they stop and tell you about jesus. And the Ligting of the tree and Joy to The World. You wont find that at Disney World. You would have to have the muslim version, then the gay and lesbian version. Thats what i love about Silver Dollar City. They tell the true reason for the season

  • @lonnie727 I do like how they don't shirk away from the Christian telling of Christmas, but Jesus wasn't really born in December and there is nothing wrong with acknowledging other cultures' ways of celebrating a holiday. I for one would be interested in learning how Muslims celebrate during the winter holidays. I support learning about other cultures and acknowledging our differences *and* our similarities. We should welcome the chance to learn about people who live differently than us.

  • @rjoyhelvie Then go to disney world. I am not trying to be rude but if thats what you want then go to somewhere where they show that. But Silver Dollar City was founded by strong Christians andI as a christian appreciate going there and bieng surrounded by that without getting stuff mixed. If Iwant to learn about other cultures then I will go to disney world or to a history book, California, orwatch a documentary. And I am well aware that Christmas is not exact on Jesus' birth I amnot uneducated

  • @lonnie727 I apologize for my terse reply. I didn't mean to imply anything about you. I suppose I'm just in a bit of a mood right now because I have many friends who are gay or of other faiths and I want them to be able to enjoy Silver Dollar City just as much as I do. And many of them do. I appreciate that Herschend Co. is Christian-based; it has led to a family-friendly atmosphere that I like. But I believe that "family-friendly" should include all families.

  • @rjoyhelvie WHen its christian based you cant please everyone.

  • you are right about some memories are only found at silver dollar city

  • love this place!!!!

  • I've been to Silver Dollar City about 30 times! I started going when I was 3yrs old and now I take MY son every year. Silver Dollar City Rocks! If you haven't visited it yet, Do it SOON!

  • RIP balloon ride.

  • Only for a while, as far as I know. I believe they are thinking of putting it in the Grand Exposition area.

  • I hope so. I used that ride to dry off from the Lost River.

  • I'm also hoping they bring it back; it's my little nephew's favorite ride. After his first trip where he was old enough to ride rides, it was all he could talk about.

  • omg! this is so my favorite place!
