Watching the 2011 finals was quite entertaining due to the jcommentary. Everytime Wade or Lebron missed a shot the announcer would say something like this,
"Wade cross over, steps back, pulls up...Oh too strong! Chandler with the rebound, Wade thought he got fouled."
Me: "He ALWAYS thinks he got fouled. If he misses a shot, it had to be because he was fouled in his eyes."
As a Heat fan, I agree that this was not a foul. However, acting like you got fouled is part of the game. If the ref has a bad angle then you get the call. All players do it including Dirk.
oh yeah I know this foul. this is the one where Terry elbowed wade twice in the right side, and everyone complained that he fell down on his own. Very convenient it doesn't show the angle where terry grabbed the bottom of Wade's shorts lol. You can actually see it if you look closely on this angle
I watched game 3 the other day and counted 6 bad calls/3 no calls in favor of Miami. Wade got free throws when he was making an alley oop pass, Mourning goal tended a shot, Wade flopped on Stackhouse, etc. Wade even pulled Josh Howard to the ground like he did Rondo, but they called the foul on Wade that time. As bad as game 3 was, the flops didn't go over the top until games 5 and 6. These Phantom Foul videos are all from game 6 and these aren't the only ones. Dan Crawford ref'd game 3 and 6.

the quality isn't good enough to decide if he actually fouled him or not. keep in mind however that if you make ANY contact with a shooter's arms/hands as he's going to shoot they will call a foul in the NBA and the players know this.

When you know you can't get close to anyone and if you play agressive defensee you're gonna get whistled, it takes away your agressivness. This is how officials control the outcome of games. It's not hard. Basketball has a history of point shaving. I'm not saying points were shaved in this series, but it's easy to manipulate the outcome of a hoops contest.
