"toasters" - totally lost me.... yeah.... definitely a synth bass and synth guitar.... but what are you going to do on a Monday night at 1000 in 10 minutes composition time.... I actually redid the music with real instruments as while back.... sounds much better.
great stuff man, this is one i'll come back to...i need to work on the "solo within a song" syncopations you throw down. along with this recording, what are some other good recordings that help you achieve this?
it's a pity that your vid has so not much views!!!! i like your drumming, they sound so cool! can i say it's like a progressive thing? i dunno but it's so skillful and sounds crazily good! subbbb!!!!
Very good! To be honest, I was more impressed with the kickass tune you came up with for the first 10 seconds or so. You'd be an excellent songwriter.
Sorry - was totally improvising a beat throughout that tune. No specific sticking pattern involved.... some doubles some singles here and there..... :)
Nice; just wondering though, how is the wife dealing with the acoustic foam on the living room walls (mine didn't take it to well :-)
Also, you're the only drummer I have seen that does the same thing as I do with my left hand resting on my knee/thigh when I play the snare. I use my leg as a registration point, so that I can get accurate rim-shots. Is this why you do it as well? I guess it only works for those whose body geometry is such that it is in the right place...
No issues with the acoustic foam....foam not meant to silence, but to stop all the room reverb....which helps for recording.
You know, never occured to me that I might be resting my hand on my knee, which actually I am not....problem is for this drum session I had the throne a little higher than I normally like.
Actually, "resting" is not the right word. I play with the left side of the bottom of my palm just touches the thigh, and I have my snare set to a height such that playing the stick level at that position will produce a "perfect" (not that anything I play is perfect :-) rim shot.
Not suggesting there is anything good about this "technique" , it's just the way I did it (subconciously initially), but it looks the same as what you were doing here.

@rennieallen i also rest my left hand on my thigh. it just seems natural for me. and it does help me with my rim shots and such. haha
