It wasn't Nicholas Lyndhurst in this episode.It was a guy named Gary Rich.I've checked it on IMDB.com.You can see there the full cast and crew list for each episode.So,its definitely not him.

I really want to know what Basil says to Manuel in Spanish when the detective comes to check in...Manuel replies "is impossible!" It's probably something as funny as "there's too much donkey on those trays."
