  • She must be around 50 here, she still sounds the same.

  • 7 people must be Lady gaga fans!!

  • Annie sounds great! Too bad they couldn't have filled out the backing a bit more. No bass and we can only hear the pianists right hand. He is clearly playing chords on the string synth but they aren't in the mix. Is the DVD the same mix. Voice good - everything else - uh not so good.

  • MARIVILHOSA, insubistituivél

  • Great performance live and good recording too!

  • Great performance live by Annie!

  • Can't wait for this Saturday night, September 17 in NYC. Annies voice stil brings tears to my eyes after 37 years.

  • still after so many years: a great song!

  • Dear Annie, Raine Carosin here and can you believe, at 48 I didn't hear you before this night and I fell in love... your voice is tonic, healing, uplifting, enlightening... thank you so much for sharing yourself, as it was, tonight was a bit of a downer but when I heard you singing, (93.8fm south africa, leon economedes (dj)), I was suddenly transported away from the pain which became like a memory, and I found life... sorry so emotional, but you know how us females wish for total expression!

  • essa musica é realmente maravilhosa!!!

  • I got your note Miss the Blue Mooon. Glad to make your day! Renaissance makes Mine!

PS. just email me at Seahawkwes@aol.com and I can tell ya' how to get Tickets.

Not sure which Venue is closest to you.

  • Brilliant!

  • 2011 Fall tour starts in September ! Check the Site for info and tickets. I got mine tonight! My seat is 3rd row at Infinity Theater in CT on 9/16/11 . (There weren't any front row seats open.... but I have a feeling that I'll enjoy the experience anyway) !

  • @Seahawkwes - OMG. I have to go. If I have to drive out of state. I absolutely can't miss them again. My heart is racing right now. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I thought a couple years ago was to be their last tour and I missed it because I was in Costa Rica.

  • Love this....

  • you said it all, @papa! i see them (front row) on 9/23/11 at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside, Pa. (I cannot wait!!!)

  • Wow...i think she sounds better here than twenty years previous. Great.

  • My all time favourite Hippy chick!!..love you Annie

  • She's still got the voice! Unfortunately the mix in this performance is terrible.

  • I seen Renaissance for the 1st time at the Tower in Upper Darby, PA in '74 opening for Al Stewart, they were fantastic, Annie Haslam's voice is/was incredible !!!Great memories

    JP

  • @zqzqpj I really envy you. In '74 I was nine years old and had no idea of what was going on in music. Looking backward at those years, it seems like a dream

  • @IntuitionDigression At least you were alive back then XD I had to discover Renaissance through my mom's vinyls...

  • I was fortunate to see them twicein 1977.....what a beautiful lady then...and now. :)

  • OMG! Even if Annie is a few years older, she's still gorgeous and has a voice like an angel.

  • Annie the angelic voice of renaissance the pioneers of new age music. Novella is still my favorite album it puts in a state of self imposed isolated state of limbo. Annie and members of Renaissance are Vegetarians. This would explain the creativity behind their music.

  • Sto lat Anno! Sto lat!!

  • This is the 5 octave voice I fell in love with back in the 70's! Fabulous, Just Fabulous!

  • SHE STILL LOKES AND SOUNDS GREAT

  • I love Annie, I have been buying her records/Renaissance records since I was an early teenager, 1976, when this song was a smash hit. I was at this concert of hers in Philly in '97 and, as at nearly every single one of her PHENOMINAL, BRILLIANT, FANTASTIC concerts I have been fortunate enough to attend over the years, I have always noticed an audience ratio of about 80%-20% Men to Women, lol. The guys just can't seem to stay away, Annie, as I cannot; you are simply one of the best!

  • WOW! Takes me back -:-)

  • Song starts at 0:30

  • Annie is one of the top singers ever.....

  • Great ladies of music (Annie Haslam): from Celtic roots to an amazing career with Renaissance (one of the alternatives to Yes and Gentle Giant who were their contemporaries) to a fantastic solo album produced by Roy Wood (have to find that on CD!) and every now and then she visits northern NJ to renew her relationships with her myriad fans. AND a voice that can top Robert Plant!!!

  • Annie was the first singer I ever got to see as a kid. Her incredible voice and talent inspired me to start singing, which I'll always be thankful for. Thanks so much for sharing this video!!!

  • Gives me "CHILLS" thanks Annie and company!

  • Annie's the best. What a beautiful voice!

  • StraightShooter357 RIGHT!!!

  • stunning!

  • ...Talent will not be Denied!!! Tears from the Souls will not simply pass..Memories will see to that!!!..Wonderful Annie....

  • Im going to see her( them) tonight in AC !!!

  • Annie played NYC last night and she was awesome. There is NO one like her - her voice is extraordinary - she has a 5-octave range. In her encore grand finale she went one entire octave in one shot and sustained that note FOREVER!!! Go RENAISSANCE 2009!

  • @50sVintage The best female vocalist that we (UK) ever produced... Renaissance are musically brilliant...and Annie's solo stuff is equally wonderful...Saw them a couple of times in the 70's

  • Im pretty sure that she's playing a few shows again soon.

  • Celtics environment...and a special taste of wine, flowers, castlells, princess... poetry and morning rising off love... RENAISSANCE......... AMAZING..ANNY ASLAND.... THE BEST...

  • Love that

  • Heavenly voice

  • I do still listen to Renaissance, by any measurement, probably my favorite band of all. The world has changed, but their music can still pull me back to center. ("Lost the way in my confusion, an illusion") Austin, Houston, in the '70s but this upcoming tour is most welcome news! I will certainly try to make it, to see and hear them at least once more. My girlfriend and I made it backstage in Houston. That was so, so wonderful to meet all of them in person. I will always cherish that experience.

  • What an amazing voice Annie has wow love her

  • Fantastic news - Annie Haslam and Mickey Dunford are taking Renaissance back out on the road - admittedly without certain other key members - but whatever

    29/08/2009

  • Coming to Rochester NY Oct 8 and I can't wait to see her again after 20+ years!

  • I wonder if people hearing Annie sing for the first time feel what we long-time fans feel.

At the TOWER Theater in Phila year ago I ran up to the stage and handed her a special flower, a "Bird Of Paradise." She loved it, held onto it, and used it as a pointer as she introduced her band.

    I was in heaven!

  • I have the great honor to actually know her! My mom designed her album dawn of ananda and it snows in heaven too.

  • Wow.....she still has the same awesome voice.

    Annie is great ;)

  • Wow - over 20 yrs since they began and she still has it!

    Thanks for posting this.

  • Annie's voice sounds amazing here!

  • I saw Annie in 2002 at The Keswick Theater in Glenside, PA She has always had the 'Voice of Angels'...No female vocalist could hold a candle to her and there has been plenty good ones. She was very lovely and generous , she hung around after the show and Autographed for anyone remaining. I knew this in advance and brought The Album jacket from her Scheherazade LP...Which she gladly signed !! Awesome

  • quasi unplugged und die Stimme von Annie ist immer gleich gut...

  • BTW..my screen name used to be CZERCHIE46........

  • Her voice is just plan magic. Imagine if Stevie Nicks could actually sing like this!

  • Imagine if Stevie Nicks could sing AND look like this! Well, then she would be Annie Haslam.

  • Stevie Nicks could not hold a candle to this woman! Annie Haslam is the BEST!

  • Still sounds and looks as beautiful as ever.

  • Annie ist eigentlich immer und überall super.Schön ,daß sie auch auf You Tube zu sehen ist...

  • Depends on your definition of "better". Haslam certainly is far better technically, complete control over 5 octaves, very unique sound. Slick was better because she was in front of Kantner and crew. Heck, I would sound like a musical genius in front of Paul Kantner, and I can't carry a tune in a bucket.

  • Do you think she's better than Grace Slick ?

  • nope

  • a goddess!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow im still in love with her as i was a quarter century ago

  • The concert was in 1975. They did a series of four shows and rotated the opening act. They opened for Stewart the night I was there. Sat in the ninth row. I fell in love with her voice then. And, after all these years, she still makes me swoon!

  • I seen Renaissance a few times in the seventies, they opened one time for Al Stewart at the Tower in Upper Darby,PA I think in 74..awesome a great memory there!!!Her voice is great!!!

  • She does sound great. I know the keyboard player, Rave Tesar. He's quite the musician. A great guy too

  • A voice as pure as a mountain stream and Annie is a beautiful as ever

  • OMG, What a honey!!

  • I had the fortunate opportunity to meet Annie Haslam in Lansdale PA. I worked for a veterinarian, and she brought her dog Daisy in . I immediately recognized her. She was so nice & pleasant. She even came back on my day off, and a day that Daisy didn't have an appt to bring me the autograph (photo) I requested. What a super nice personable classy lady !!!! Thank You, Annie

  • You are very lucky and i am very envious of you

  • what a voice...always annie

  • I think she sings even better than in '75.

  • So many UK popular singers adopt an American accent....not this lady!

  • I was in a band with Jon Camp in early 90's wish i knew what he'd done at the time. he never said how well they were maybe he didnt want to be known, he was a great bass player to work with, only since i realise how good they were, thats maybe how he wanted it to be.

  • Annie, Sandy,grace slick, Stevie,Joni...rockn'roll heaven.

  • no one to touch her

  • Philly Loves Annie, Clean, pure talent. It don't get no better. Yo!

  • Yea.. I met Annie when I lived near Philly. She's in Doylestown now...super sweet and friendly..and she's a great artist too.

  • your kidding, in doylestown?? right up the street from me?

  • Yes she lives in Doylestown, I met her when I worked for a Veterinarian in Lansdale..she was SUPER nice & gave me her autograph too...a Wonderful lady !!!!

  • My pappy was from Morrisville and we occasionally visit. I think I am going to have to make tracks for Doylestown the next time we hit Bucks County. This is talent. And she must have a lot of guts, too..surviving breast cancer.

    Tom in Utica NY

  • love her still has an amazing voice

  • Annie does it again...always Annie

  • She still have the same voice than 25 years ago! Beautiful!

  • Oh my God! She's STILL beautiful.

I get a little embarrassed playing Renaissance CD's these days because they have dated concepts. You know - melody, chord changes, elevated aspirations -- stuff like that.

  • ROFL! So True!

  • I have been a Renaissance fan since 1975. I never get tired of hearing the great voice of Annie Haslam. I saw her/them live in '77. A concert I have always remembered. What a voice!

  • I love annie's voice, and she sings so pure... Amazing

  • Looking for this for almost 20 Years

    Great!

  • Hi, hope I'm posting this in the correct place - does anyone have a video they could post of 'THE ANGELS CRY' by

Justin Hayward with Annie Haslam (1989)? Thanks.

  • Damn, but that woman can sing.

  • Great to find videos by Annie here, as well as Renaissance. I listened to them so much in the seventies. Annie is still one of my favorite female vocalists..the voice of an angel.

  • That voice, indeed! And she is still so hot! That is one advanced being...

  • Linda música, linda voz...

  • Beautiful voice!

  • Nunca esqueci as musicas do Rennaissance...a cara da minha adolescencia! E Carpet of the Sun era uma das q mais curtia...muito bom ver, ouvir e relembrar!

  • Very good

  • renaissance formed out of the "ashes" of the yardbirds by keith relf and his sister if i am correct?.

  • I've always heard that too, and it's always been one of the strangest things for me to try to imagine...?

  • that might be the renassance that sued this renaissance over the name of the group...

  • I sincerely hope this is available on CD as well, I will be ordering this! I have been a Renn fan since 1978. Thanks!

  • 'Super Annie ' !!..great voice and backup group ..

    Raymond U.S.A.

  • Nice to see this! Loved Renaissance -Annie Haslam was born in my home town-Bolton, England.

  • She went out with Roy Wood...he produced her first solo album...They also lived together.

  • I think she was married to Roy Wood of Wizzard at some stage.probably early 70's. Anyone confirm this ?

  • Great vocals! Great 70's prog-rock band. I must find this dvd.

  • my adolescenseeeee....I still love this...tanx
