@89Pleasek "beat-federer-at-any-price attitude, if winning against Federer is more important than winning the Tennis Masters Cup, then be it" - What the fuck does that mean?
I just want to gag when everyone makes excuses for Roger's losses. He's a human being and he will lose. I suppose you guys are going to say the same when he got his butt handed to him on a silver platter at the hands of Djokovic three times this year. He was hurt every time, I bet.
i love how federer wasted murrays energy here -- rog would have been screwed anyway even if he won this match -- cauz he already lost to simon quite badly in the last 2 sets and had an unconvincing win over stepanek. murray had nothing left in the tank for the SF :). Go Roger xD.
my god, murray is such an insufferable arse! he gives me the shits cos iv never seen a player complain as much after losing a point when the opposition plays a great rally and closes with a winner. seems like there's always an excuse with him...can't wait til his worthless career is over and he winds up a slamless wonder like henman
@CASPER10666 I meant that I hate his tennis playing style as a pusher. It's just so boring and horrible to watch. Plus when Murray roars like a little retard after winning each point it's like *pacepalm*
His style is not of a pusher, he is a great tactician, someone who sets a point up, not just react or hit through it. He has the ability to put the ball in the exact place in the court which makes it so hard for the other player to be effect and they make a lot of mistakes. When Murray roar's I see passion for his sport. Nadal does the little punching the court, Federer curls up his fist and roars at times. They all do it. Murray is not doing anything the others are not, so why single him out.
@CASPER10666 Yeah I don't like nadal's pist pump... and I've watched Murray in lots of matched and he's really not that clever a player, I think he's just about good enough to be a pusher, which is effective - but not enjoyable to watch - in tennis. Davydenko on the other hand - a real tactician, very deliberate in all his shots and very persistent. If only he were more consistent I think he could easily be World #1. Murray will never be World #1 (apart from that time last year)
@CASPER10666 well ok he may well be a good tactician, but then I don't see that. And also I just don't like his playing style, for similar reasons as to why i don't like Nadal's overly-Western grip. Horrible to watch. I like watching clean ground strokes
what you like and whats fact is neither here nor there. You wont like everyones style, doesnt mean they are not a good player. You disrespecting a player because of your lack of knowledge is on you not them. If you dont understand, listen to what the experts say...they DO know what they are talking about....
@CASPER10666 My lack of knowledge? Of what? And I never said Murray was a bad player. I was merely expressing my opinion. Am I banned from expressing my opinion?
Since when did a comment about Murray being pusher suddenly turn into a conversation about you being banned......your flow of conversation is confusing.
how could you not see that? Murray varies his shot time to time and adjusts when he play different types of opponents for eg. Nadal he attacks. He's a good tactician since he constructs his point evidented that he use pace, speed, angle and slices during rallies. In other words go watch some Murray videos if you don't believe me.
Yeah, I've watched a few more Murray videos and realized that there's more to him than meets the eye. He's really good against weaker opponents, and I guess when he plays against top-10 seeders, it's a different ball game altogether, and he tends to put up a good fight. His first serve is also very good. If anything, I would still like to see him go for a higher ratio of 'outright' winners to dropshot winners against top-seeders. So basically try to get stats closer to that of Federer's... lol
If you honestly think someone can win that many tournaments by just puching the pall, you really DON'T know much about tennis... Or at least modern tennis.
Djokovic and Murray were in a similar situation in their groups back in 2008.Murray had 2 wins no losses, same with Djokovic. Both finished their groups at the top no matter what - Murray had a match wih Federer, whilst Djokovic had one with Tsonga. What does Djokovic do? Saves energy for the semi-final playing a lose third set to Tsonga(ended up losing 6-1 in the third) What does Murray do? Ehausts himself for the semi-final against Davydenko which he would easily win. That's what I call maturity.
Murray played amazing, and Roger did an amazing job with an injured back. He got treatment after every end which he didnt need to do he could have pulled out but didnt. I love watching these two play, they have such matching games. Its not all about big hitting...
Murray is a good player...but the thing that is affecting his game is, he seems a bit scared of hitting the ball hard through the open court; therefore givin them a second chance at the point; he also relies on others to make errors....he's my favorite player though
the reason he sliced it was because Murray hit his forehand up high to feds backahand which limits a one hander in what they can do from an attacking sense so that is why is slicing, its the percenatage play
The way you know that there are only two real CONTENDERS on this tour is that it takes the #3 (#4 at the time) in the world 7 match points and his opponent having a crippled back to be able to win in three out of three possible sets.
If you're talking about the hard court Madrid, then yes his back was already screwed up. It was mangled from about October to the start of the new season.
Which makes Doha legitimate, but it's a 250pt Australian Open warm up.
you're almost right: He had back injury problems from october 2008 till february 2009. So Madrid, Abu Dhabi and doha do not count. In indian wells, let's face it, he gave up the match, like he did to djokovic in Rome and in Miami. But you can believe whatever you want: The fact is, federer alaways loses in the final set against murray while having so many chances to close it out, like in this match. Federer is the GOAT, he can beat Murray anytime if he doesn't make stupid mistakes. So be quiet
why be a shit to people on youtube? i never said anything about Murray being better than Federer, i don't believe he'll ever be better. i just have a problem with bullshit people disrespecting Murray about his wins over Fed.
Even back in 05 when he was 18 he only lost 7-6 6-3 to him, are you saying Murray is a magician that is able to give Federer an injury before every time they meet? no of course he isn't.
I'm not being a shit to people on youtube, I'm just saying that I don't like what you are saying which is: Murray's win against Federer are fair and square. And I do not agree with that. All his wins are the result of luck and cirompstances combined: Like I said in my previous message about his last 4 wins. You're talking about his win in cincinatti in 06, where he beat federer in straight sets: WAOW, federer made 16 of 17 possible finals that year ... give him a break. And if you aretalking
Federer's win in bangkok on 2005, he won 64 63 if I remember right, and who cares if murray scored 7 or 9 games ? he lost that's all.
Murray is very talented I accept that, and I love his tactics and all... But there is moment when you just have to look at facts: He's always in the best possible position when he plays Federer, and the only time they played a really improtant match (US final) FedEx POWNED him ... I think murrray's game bores Federer. But I didn't insult you, I accept you judgemnt
What an idiotic statement. Federer's 2008 was terrible, whilst that's when Murray was emerging.. I'd say wait till the French Open final but Murray won't be there ...
For a year in Federer; 2008, it's a remarkable year in general but he set the bar so high that he made it to what seems to be amazing a lackluster one.
murray is awesome... always has a plan against federer... never seen him going for a hard-struck forehand against him! gets kinda defensive and it always pays!!

These two take tennis to a new level, they are both great tacticians and dont just rely on big hitting. There will be huge crowds at matches by these two. Andy must love getting the chance to play against thee best player in the world. I cant wait to see how Andy performs in 2009, plus I think Roger will come out all guns blazing, all great for mens tennis.
wot a match. gr8 tennis. obviously federer was injured which was slighty luky 4 murray but murray took his luk brilliantly. i think the rite player won in the end. i couldnt stand the crowd being so bias towards federer. it was the 2nd best match of the year. wimbledon final was outstanding, shokingly good. wimbledon final was best match of the year!!
myeah, anyway he's a pretty good server. He was just given as an example for a player who relies too much on his serve. Federer does too, but not so much, he can win when he's serve isn't 100%.
Don't be facetious! Obviously the serve is important but my point was that he was hardly crippled. He was moving very well and his groundstrokes were still very powerful. This idea that he was mortally wounded is stupid.
no one ever made the assumption that he was 'mortally wounded' except for u... The fact that federer uses his serve to dictate play makes a huge difference if his serve isnt working well...
and again IMAGINE playing tennis with an injured back, hurting like crap after u rotated ur hips for a forehand or bending it back while serving. Being able to keep up this level while injured is really something. Thats why, ROGER SHOULD BE NAMED THE GOAT.
Its called hyperbole! The idea was deliberate exaggeration. If he was as badly hurt as you are suggesting then theres no way he would have been able to play like this. With all due respect I sincerely doubt Federer is in humongous amounts of agony. If anything it will be mild discomfort.
do u play tennis? if u do u MIGHT just be able to understand how hard it is to play well (fed's definition of well is how he played @ the SF and Finals of the USopen) with a mild back pain.
Listen, its not difficult to play tennis! Its difficult to play tennis well! My attack wasn't on Federer rather it was on those people suggesting he was exhibiting some kind of Herculean effort because he managed to"survive" the match. The back injury wasn't incredibly bad as proved by the "GENERAL" quality of his game. Also at no time did I suggest he did not play well. Listen, its not difficult to play tennis! Its difficult to play tennis well! My attack wasn't on Federer rather it was on those people suggesting he was exhibiting some kind of Herculean effort because he managed to"survive" the match.
